Goodbye bangs! It was fun while it lasted...

I give up! I give up on my bangs. I used to either go to the salon every 2-3 weeks to get them trimmed or I do it myself. I'm done-zo! NO more bangs for me. Don't get me wrong,  I really loved them. I loved how it made me look fierce and edgy and super young lol. But it has gotten kind of annoying to maintain them and keep them in place and, I've been having so many bad bangs days that I decided to give it up and let it grow sigh....

Anyway, here are the last photos you're gonna see with me and my bangs ^_^

  1. I've had bangs maybe twice in my adult life...I liked the way the hair stylist did them but I could not for the life of me do them the same way,it was really irritating,so within a week I was just pinning them back. =)

  7. Bangs suit you really well (=

I tried to have bangs several times before to hide my ENORMOUS forehead... but always failed! I think it's so, so anoying, and I'm not the kind of girl who has lots of time to lose to do her hair. Every night, after she washed her hair, my mother uses the hairdryer to add some "oomph" to her bangs so that it won't fall flat in the morning.

  9. I've had side swept bangs before. like you, i really liked it but it was such a hassle to maintain. I have to blowdry it or iron it out because my hair is naturally wavy. Wavy bangs is just weird. So, i also decided to grow it out. i kept it for about 3 months then i just let it grow. :)

  11. I have had bangs almost all my life. When I was a kid, I had the straight bangs and when I was older I got the side swept bangs. I recently got straight bangs again after letting my hair grow out. I think straight bangs are harder to maintain then the side swept ones because it's really easy for them to go awry. Lol

I just needed osmething edgy so I cut my own bangs and kept them that way for about a year. then i got engaged and discovered that my fiance didn't really like bangs..LOL..so i quit with them.♥

  15. aww goodbye bangs! I actually love thme on u! But I know how u feel... I had bangs most of my life and it was horrid to keep up with them. I remember for my 8th grade yearbook picture day, my sister didn't have time to trim my bangs, so I did it myself... oh geez, they ended up so short and lopsided -- needless to say, horrible picture lol...

To this day, I still enjoy having shorter hair framing my face, but instead of bangs, I opt for "fringe" lol... long enough to pull behind my ear!

Thanks for this mini giveaway! I love NYX :)

  16. I had bangs as a kid to hide my big forehead, lol. After I grew into it I got rid of them. I tried them again as an adult but the upkeep became a pain since the FL weather kept making my relaxed hair frizz. And frizzy bangs are not cute.lol

  17. Becky, you look gorgeous with bangs! Though if you've had them for a while, they do get pretty hassling.

I have had bangs before but what's different for me is that I have CURLY hair! It was EXTREMELY messy, and it looked nice all blown out but looked horrible when wash and worn, but I forced myself into it for years because I've always loved how bangs looked - on straight-haired people, at least. It was a long and hard lesson to learn but finally, I accepted that it wasn't for me.

I don't know if this is open internationally, but here anyway: zayapono@gmail.com

    Keep posting, love! :)

  20. Oh my gosh, I soooooo understand you. I had bangs like twice. The first time I cut my bangs I LOVED it, I looked soooo good and I got a lot of compliments. It does get tough to maintain them looking good. I too had to trim like every 2 weeks. I have like semi curly hair so I had to straighten my bangs every day. Oh my, on windy days you bangs go crazy, and in summer is like ahhhhhh, my forehead wants to breath! Ha ha! But I loved them while I had them! =D

  21. love the first pic of you. i agree, it's hard to maintain bangs and keep them at a good enough length where you won't look ridiculous. i used to wear my bangs short too, then i got tired and lazy so now they're just side swept bangs.

    ReplyDelete
  22. your bangs look so good on you! ive been growing mine out too - i had mine cut last year but ive grown tired of how high maintenance they were.

  24. I know how you feel. I've gotten bangs a couple of times, and everytime I get them I regret it and vow never to get them again, They're definitely high maintenance.

  25. I have bangs right now and I love it. However, it gets annoying every time my eyes and face gets poked. But I might maintain it and just clip it when I'm because I look different with it. :P

But I'm gonna miss seeing those bangs on your pretty face. :P

I like having bangs, I had bangs for 7 years or so until now, but I've never tried the full ones though, mine's side swept, it sometimes annoy me when my bangs doesn't get into place. i'm also growing out my bangs already, the stylist didn't cut my bangs right, i'm now suffering with insane bangs look hehe.. but I hide it by doing the lauren condrad braid, to hide the flaws.. :) how I missed my old bangs..

  30. I had bangs like that for only 2 weeks before they kept poking me in the eyeballs! Man, they got annoying. LOL, I prefer side bangs since they last a little bit longer :)

  32. Becky, I'm gonna miss your bangs! lol I'm one of those many who has a crush on your lovely bangs!

Anyways, I've had bangs for as long as I remember, my whole childhood, teenage years and early 20s! I've had it until I graduated in College and it felt weird going bangs-less! Now, I'm used to side swept bangs! I actually wanted to try this full bangs again!

  33. I currently have bangs, and I have short side swept ones, that turn into full bangs when I'm in the mood. I really liked your bangs! But I definitely understand why you would want to let them grow out.

  36. It's rather ironic and funny that you posted this because I recently got a very bad haircut and ended up with Raggedy Anne bangs that wrap around the front of my entire face. Soooo not cool. However, I'm slowly learning to like, nay, even love them. I haven't had bangs since I was 5 yrs. old, and although my bangs look like they were chopped by a 5 yr. old with blunt scissors, they make me laugh. I haven't had too many good things happening in my life lately, so these stupid but silly bangs give me a good laugh, even if it is at my own expense.

The sad thing is that I think I'll have these bangs for the next year or so before they grow out. LOL!

  37. As a kid, it's a staple to have full bangs... But as i grew up, so are my bangs... Since then, I've been bangless *if that's even considered a word :)*

4 years ago, I really want to change my long hair look and so I asked my aunt to cut my hair and give me bangs. I thought she was going to cut it sideways but to my surprise she cut it to full bangs! Eventually, I got used to it and maintained cutting it twice a month. Maintenance is a hassle since I always flat iron my bangs only in the morning and leave the rest of my hair to air dry. I have managed to grow them up to my nose because of school work and have no time to cut them.

Lately, my bangs are up to my nose and are always side swept. I might try cutting them again just below my eyebrows next time.

Well, that's my experience regarding full bangs. :)

  40. Yeah, now i have a bang. After i make it long for two years, now i again make a bang (just like when i was in 1st grade in university).
No bang makes my face looks maturer and older. With bang makes my face looks younger.
On 1st grade, i keep my bang for 3 years. The lazy point is, i have to cut it my self or go to salon after it reach my eyebrow :(
And yeah, i love when you have a bang :)

    Anw, great giveaway :)
    Good luck everybody :)

  41. I am growing my bangs out again for the probably 1000th time now. I always love them during the first few weeks. Until I have to trim them. They grow into a mess really fast and are so hard to maintain espesially with wavy hair and whorls all over the place. So I usually start to let them grow out after 6 months or so. And as soon as they reach chin length I see someone with cute bangs and cut them again. I am afraid it's a never ending story *lol*
