late Glam Holiday Makeup look

Sorry this post is so late. It was meant to be posted a week before Chirstmas day but I only got around editing the video tutorial and photos on Chirstmas eve. But it's ok since this Glam Holiday makeup look with gold eyes and red lips is not only limited for the Holidays. This look can be worn all year round for any occasion. It's very pretty and its great with all skin tones ^_^

Products used

-Urban Decay Primer Potion
-Urban Decay Alice in Wonderland Book of Shadows eyeshadows in Oraculum, Munchness, Mad Hatter, Drink Me Eat Me.
-NYX single e/s in Highlight
-Mac e/s in Cork
-Mark's keep it going gel liner
-Revlon eye lash curler
-NYX Doll Eye mascara

-Milani e/s in Rich Chocolate
-Mac e/s in Cork

-Smashbox Double Exposure lip/cheek color in Irresistible
-Milani mosaic blush in Afterglow

-Mark Kissink lip marker in Red Siren
-Revlon Colorburst lipstick in Coral

I used my Revlon Colorburst lipstick in Coral. It looks like a bright red orange in the tube but it actually looks softer on the lips that makes it very wearable.

Here is a video tutorial of the makeup look. Enjoy!

My favorite drugstore lotion

I picked up this awesome lotion called Apricot Oil firming body lotion by C. Booth at my local Rite Aid last month around Thanksgiving. I was running low on my Gold Bond body lotion so I needed a new one. I wanted to try something new and this product caught my interest. The product description said, "You won't find a body lotion that works harder." Haha, it sounded promising and confident so I bought it lol. Not because I believed what it said, I just wanted to try it out to see if it worked. Well it turned out to be an awesome body lotion. I've been using it every single day and I'm almost out since my mom and aunt was secretly using it because they love it too ^_^

As you can see it looks like any regular lotion bottle with a pump to dispense the product easily. It has 15 fl oz/443 ml so you get a lot of product and it will last you a long time unless your mom and aunt uses it in secret  then you need to buy yourself another bottle.

When it comes to any lotion type products, I prefer a thicker texture. I feel like they're more effective in moisturizing the skin. I may be wrong but that's just my opinion. I'm used to the texture of the Gold Bond body lotion which is really thick, a little sticky and kind'a difficult to distribute through out the body. But this lotion is different. It has the right texture that I really like. It's not too thin or thick, I say somewhere in the middle and it's so easy to slather all over the body. It dries quick to a nice powdery finish which makes my skin feel instantly smooth. It also has a light citrus scent that feels refreshing. On the other hand, I can't speak for the firming properties of this lotion. I do have a little bit of cottage cheese behind my thighs but I haven't used this product enough to see any difference. But I have to say that my skin feels moisturized whenever I use it ^_^

In my opinion, the perfect time to apply body lotion is right after when you get out of the shower while your skin is still moist and your pores are still open. This way your skin can absorb the product easily. I keep it in the bathroom for easy reach and I slather a good amount all over my body.

Water (Aqua), Cyclopentasiloxane, Glycerin, Cetearyl Alcohol, Polysorbate 60, Dimethicone, Mineral Oil (Paraffinum Liquidum), Fragrance (Parfum), Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil (Coconut), Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Butter (Cocoa), Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter) (Shea Butter), Cetearyl Alcohol, Caffeine, Niacinamide, Sodium, Hyaluronate, Macadamia Temifolia Seed Oil, Prunus Armeniaca Kernal Oil (Apricot), Carbomer, Triethanolamine, Tetrasodium EDTA, BHT, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, 2 Bromo 2 Nitropropane 1, 3 Diol, Red 4

My aunt couldn't believe I bought this lotion at the drugstore. She said it feels expensive. She only uses Chanel for her creams so she would know haha. Well this only proves that there are good products at the drugstore and they do not have to be expensive to be good lol. I recommend this lotion to everybody. The texture is just right, it moisturizes the skin and it smells fresh ^_^

price: $5- 6.99 depends on where you get it.

Review: EOS lip balm in Summer Fruit

I went to my local CVS pharmacy to kill time...again! I was looking for the EOS (Evulotion of Smooth) lip balms. I've been wanting to get them since last year because of it's cool egg shaped packaging...I mean look at it, it's so cute! And everyone in the beauty blog world has been raving about them so I really had to get them.

It took me forever to find them in the store. You would think it would be next to the other lip balms at the beauty section but noooo...I found them next to Pepto Bismol at the medicine aisle...random! They only had 1 flavor available which was Summer Fruit so I got 2 of them. One for me and my best friend Monica. I paid at the register and the guy cashier was like..."You like these balls lip balm?" hahahahha what a weirdo! I just simply replied, "NO! They're egg lip balm homie!"

I could not get over the cuteness of the packaging. It's very unique and nothing I've seen in the market before. It's like a mini ped-egg looking thing with a flat bottom. You twist it open and you see the product right away ready to be applied on the lips. It's also a conversation starter whenever I whip this out in public. One time on the train, this old lady gave me a weird look and asked, "what the heck is that?" I said, "relax ms. lady, it's just a lip balm" lol. It was really funny. The only thing I didn't like about the packaging was the bulkiness of it. It fits in the back or side pocket of my jeans but it was weird walking with a ball bulging out of my butt lol. But no biggie, I just put it in the pocket of my purse.

Ok enough about the packaging. The important question is did it really moisturize? Yes! It's winter and I need extra moisture on my lips and this product was awesome. It glided on the lips very smooth and I instantly felt my lips got softer. It didn't have a sticky yucky texture but it gave my lips a bit shine. The staying power was impressive too. It stayed on my lips for a long time and, I didn't feel the need to re-apply every minute. Oh and I could never forget the succulent scent that always made me me want to eat it!

Ingredient List (* denotes organic, 1 denotes natural flavor): Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil*, Beeswax (Cire D’abeille)*, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil*, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil*, Natural Flavor, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter)*, Stevia Rebaudiana Leaf/Stem Extract*, Tocopherol, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil*, Vaccinium Angustifolium (Blueberry) Fruit Extract*, Fragaria Vesca (Strawberry) Fruit Extract*, Prunus Persica (Peach) Fruit Extract*, Linalool1.
It's 95% organic and 100% natural.

I highly recommend The EOS lip balm to everyone. It really moisturized and softened my lips and the lasting power was amazing. It has100% natural ingredients and the packaging is super cute!

price: $3.29  to $3.99 depends on where you get them

Birchbox #2 and Merry Christmas everyone!

I got my 2nd Birchbox for this month of December. My heart raised a little bit when I saw the bright pink box in the security guard's's my Birchbox!!! I love getting packages in the mail and knowing I will get one every month with beauty goodies is really getting a present every month whoo hoo!

If you guys don't know what Birchbox is all about, it's a monthly subscription service where you get a package or what they call Birchbox with samples from different high end beauty brands. You get 4-5 product samples and it's only $10 a month. They are handpicked by the Birchbox team so you know you're getting the best products. It's a really neat idea because I'm able to try different high end products without breaking the bank and, I have an option to invest in a full size product if I end up liking them. You are awesome Birchbox!!!

Just like my last Birchbox, everything was nicely packaged with tissues and ribbons. It may not seem like a big deal to some but it is to me. I love the company's effort to make the package look so pretty!

Stila, Lip Glaze in Kitten is my first Stila lip product and I was so excited when I saw it. The shade Kitten is Stila's most popular shade and it also comes in an eyeshadow and gel liner.

Serge Lutens, L'Eau sample fragrance. He's a cult fragrance designer. How do I know this? It says it on the product list lol. I've never heard of the brand before and I'm not too big on fragrance but it sure is nice to get a little sample to try. It smells very fresh!

Jouer, Luminizing Moisture Tint is a mineral tinted moisturizer with spf 20. Never even heard of this brand as well but it  look pretty cool.

Blow, Heat is On is a protective mist for the hair and it supposed to nourish, detangle and condition the hair.

That's it for my December Birchbox. I'm pleased with everything I got and I can't wait to get my next one lol. You should sign up for Birchbox too so you can enjoy these products samples like I do.

Read about my first Birchbox here

And Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone especially to all my friends here in the blogging community, thanks for all your love and support. I have a little bit of haters and I love you guys too because you guys add views to my blog haha!

Right now Cherry Culture is having FREE SHIPPING on orders $20 and over. Offer ends December 24th, 2010.

Spotted: Wet n' Wild makeup at the 99cents Store

I spotted a whole tray of Wet n' Wild  Mineral Powder Foundation at my local 99cents store. It was located at their makeup/beauty section covered in paper bags and other random stuff. I'm surprised since these are currently being sold at drugstores for $4.99. It only came in the shade Tan and I guess it wasn't selling too well so it ended up in the 99cents store? They also had lip liner duos but I didn't take a photo.

The shade Tan seemed like it could work with my skin tone so I decided to buy it. It was only $1 so I had nothing to lose if its good or not ^_^.

If you're interested, you can hit up your local 99cents store and hopefully you can find them too ^_^

Thank you so much for stopping by!

Review: ELF Mineral All-Over Eyeshadow brush

I never buy an eye shader brush over a dollar. All my eye shader brushes are from the ELF dollar line. They get the job done, which is apply eyeshadows on the eye lids, brow bone and sometimes even blend colors together. The bristles are very soft and for a dollar, I can't complain. I recently picked up the ELF Mineral All-Over Eyeshadow brush which almost made me re think about my dollar eye shader brush mentality lol...almost! It was on sale at my local Ross, a clothing discount store for only $2.49 so why not get it right? It's normally $5 at ELF website so I it was a good deal.

This brush is part of the ELF Mineral line brushes. They are cruelty-free, ferrule are made of recycled materials, handles are made from sustainable bamboo and bristles are synthetic Taklon which is great for wet or dry products.

ELF described it on the website as "The large flat brush head creates perfectly even and smooth color application on the eyelid. The curved shape of the bristles provide easy maneuvering and precision for color where you want it."  I agree with this claim except for one thing. Yes, it applied eye shadow nicely on the lids. I use it for either packing on the color or brushing it all over the eye lids and even contour the crease to create depth. But it's not a large brush. It's quite small, a little smaller than their dollar eye shadow brush.

In comparison to their ELF dollar eye shader brush, the bristles are more dense. Therefore, it easily picked up more product. It's white and eyeshadow color was very visible even after you quickly clean it with tissue paper. I always feel the need to clean it with a brush cleaner right after every use.

Overall, it's a great brush. If you don't mind the price then I suggest you buy it. It applied colors on the eye lids very well and I love the fact that I can use it with wet or dry products without ruining the brush. Also, it's always good to support Eco-friendly and animal cruelty products. Will I keep buying it? Maybe one or two more times. I just have to wait for a 50% off sale on the ELF website because I sure won't shed $5 on it. LOL I'm such a cheap-o!

availability: ELF website
price: $5 or $2.50 with a 50% off coupon code.

Becky's NYX eye shadow Holiday picks!

It's all about shimmers, glitters, bold and festive colors this Holiday season. If you've always been a neutral makeup kind of girl then this is the right time to step out of the box and try something different and fun. I'm going to show you my Holiday eye shadow picks from NYX cosmetics. I love these eye shadows. They are shimmery, glittery and perfect for creating those sexy smokey eyes for your next Christmas party or dinner ^_^.

All the eye shadows appear to be light in the pan but they are actually really dark when swatched on the skin or applied all over the eye lids.

Sensual is a dark plum shade, almost black with purple and silver shimmers/glitters.

Frosted Ocean is a Midnight Blue shade with silver, purple and blue shimmers.

Smokie Mountain is rusty antique gold shade with gold and silver shimmers.

Gunmetal is a dark grey-ish shade that looks almost like silver because of the silver glitters/shimmers in it.

Exotic Green reminds me of Night Porter eye shadow by NARS cosmetics. Its a dark green shade, almost black with green glitters/shimmers.

I did a Holiday makeup look using Frosted Ocean eye shadow. Click HERE to see it.

You can purchase these at Cherry Culture (They're having 20% off the entire site) and for less than 5 bucks!!!

New NYX HD Studio Photogenic makeup

NYX cosmetics recently launched their new HD Studio Photogenic products and, I can't help but get excited. They are finally jumping in the HD bandwagon. NYX claims these products will make the skin appear smoother and flawless, perfect for taking photos as well as everyday use. They have HD foundation, primer, blushes and powders.

HD Grinding Powder, a mineral enriched foundation powder $25. The packaging reminds me of the Smashbox Halo Hydrating Perfecting powder because of the grinder, cool right? It allows you to control how much product you need.

HD Grinding Blush, a mineral enriched powder blush $16.50 has 8 shades to choose from. It's a bit pricey for a powder blush if you ask me, but since it's HD then it must be really good.

HD Eyeshadow Base, an eye primer that will even out the skin tone on the eye lids, saturates the eye shadows and prevents it from creasing $7. Hmmm...I'm a little skeptical on this one since their regular eye shadow bases are not the best. But hey, since they're calling it HD then it better be a good one.

HD foundation, a liquid foundation $15 formulated from photogenic synthesis. The packaging reminds me a little of the MakeupForever HD foundation but does it work the same? I'm really curious to try it.

HD Primer, a foundation primer that will help your foundation last all day $14. I'm a face primer freak so I might try this out too.

What do you guys think of these new HD products? Are you going to get them? Go to to learn more about these products.

No fuss Natural Nude lips

This is my version of a natural looking nude lips using a very inexpensive lip liner by Wet n Wild. It looks very natural, great for everyday and it goes well with any eye makeup. When talking nude lips, I'm not talking about the white, pale, powdered donut lips that I'm sure you've seen many people wear. It's when your lips are a lot lighter than your skin tone and you look very dehydrated and sick. I must admit, I am guilty of the powdered donut lips. I used to think pale, almost white lips was the perfect nude lips haha. That was back when I was starting with makeup. So lesson learned and now I know better and will never do it again lol...unless if it's a high fashion makeup or photo shoot where makeup has no boundaries then white pale lips is totally hot!

           The Powdered Donut lips
hot or not?

I love to use my Wet n Wild lip liner in Willow. It's creamy, smooth and only 99 cents at your local drugstores. It's the perfect nude for my medium skin tone.

- Pick a lipstick/lip liner shade close to the natural color of your lips. If you have dark skin, go for a darker pinky brown or just plain brown or if you have lighter skin then go for a  lighter pinky brown  or even light orangey brown.
- It's best to let the lip balm sit on the lips for a good while before applying any lip color. It will prevent the lips from drying under the lipstick or lip liner.
-Stay on the natural lip line when lining the lips. We're not creating a new shape, we just want to enhance the lips.

And do you know who looks perfect in nude lips? Of course Kim Kardashian!!! I just love her makeup and style and she always look gorgeous ^_^

Thank you so much for reading my blog. I fell off the blog world for a little bit that's why I haven't been able to do a decent post. But thank you for still visiting and commenting ^_^
