It's a $10 Toothpaste

Thanks to my March (Upgarde Your Essentials) Birchbox, I was able to try the most expensive toothpaste I've ever used in my life lol. I've never heard of the brand Marvis before, so I went back to the Birchbox website to learn more about it.

According to the Birchbox website:
"Imported from Italy, this stylish toothpaste makes brushing your teeth anything but routine. The invigorating peppermint flavor is extra zippy and keeps your breath fresh all day. Plus, the apothecary-chic tube dresses up the bathroom sink."

I honestly don't pay attention to what kind of toothpaste I use. We use Aquafresh or Colgate in my house because it's what my mother buys. As long as it cleans my teeth, makes my breath fresh, has a minty flavor and affordable, then I'm okay. I tried a sample Marvis Classic Minty toothpaste, and I didn't really see or feel anything special that will make me go crazy and rave about it. The minty flavor was not as strong as described. I was expecting an invigorating minty freshness, but it was just okay.

On the other hand, I don't hate this toothpaste. In fact, I appreciate it's simplicity. It's a classic white toothpaste that cleans the teeth and helps prevents cavities, tooth decay, tartar and plaque. I like how it doesn't leave my teeth feeling gritty and the design on the tube is pretty cool. But is that enough to make me purchase the full size for $10? Maybe not.

LOL at this pic. It lathers nicely with a small amount ^_^

full size price: $10.50

  8. I love that last pic! haha :) I might try this toothpaste because i can't use any of the regular stuff like Crest or Colgate because it has SLS in it. I get canker sores and swollen lips from it =/ Ugh! I'm currently using Tom's and most recently Sensodyne. I love Burt's Bees toothpaste as well. It's good because it's around $4 :D

  14. $10 for a toothpaste? hell no. My Colgate only cost $2.79 at Target. This toothpaste is a joke, thanks for the review, the packaging is kinda neat, it looks old fashioned, like from the 1940's

  15. I think this is a good tooth paste in all. A dentist will tell you that the content is based on fluoride and calcium solutions.

  16. Definitely, Daniel. Definitely. Some toothpastes don't have fluoride as an active ingredient, which is bad. Always look at the label when buying toothpaste.

  17. I don't see flouride in the active ingredients. Does it even have any? Maybe this toothpaste is just for the taste.

  18. I echo the same things said above. Without flouride, it's effectiveness as s toothpaste is questionable.

  19. That's a bit expensive for a tube of toothpaste. Large tubes are usually priced at around $4. I'm currently using a brand that has tri-colored swirls and a minty taste. I just forgot the name. LOL!

  20. This product is a little too expensive especially in this economy. Our Dorchester dentists have recommended more affordable brands and more effective than this.

  21. I'm a huge fan of peppermint flavored toothpastes. But that wouldn't make me purchase one worth $10. My doctor in a cosmetic dentistry Plano TX clinic has recommended similar dental hygiene products for less.

  22. I always prefer minty toothpaste than the fruity one. I would love to try Marvis toothpaste. Do they sell a bigger toothpaste tube? It looks like a travel toothpaste.

  23. My Marvis tootpaste runs out too fast. I’ll ask some Lubbock dentists if they offer a bigger toothpaste tube.

  24. Toothpaste products like this are worth buying for. Companies who produce a great performing product should not put an expensive price so everybody can achieve a healthy teeth.

  25. I need to buy two pieces of this tooth paste for my uncles. They have tartar and they are too lazy to go to the dentist. The tartar was caused by their addiction to smoking.

  26. It’s a good thing for a small tooth paste that can do all those work. Its small but it lathers nicely with a small amount and that’s impressive.
