FOTD: Melt Proof Makeup (L.A. County Fair pics)

Kiko and I got to play parents when we took his little niece and nephew to the L.A. County Fair over the weekend. It was my first time going to a legit fair and it was so much fun. I want to go again next year! I love the fact that you can do so many things besides rides. I don't do rides at all. Not even those kiddie rides that does nothing but spins you ugh! Those makes me throw up haha. However, I can do bump cars, log rides, and giant slides over and over again. Those are super fun! They also have art galleries, museums, music, concerts and food...lots of food, so you'll never run out of things to do!

(Nothing screams more carnivore than a piece of t-bone on a shirt I got from Threadless.com)

The only thing I didn't like about the fair was the heat! It was almost unbearable, and it made me sweat a lot...yuck! Good thing I wore a melt proof makeup that made me look decent the whole day  ^_^.

Here's what I did...

face:
-Sunblock was the first thing I applied on my face. Sunblock protects the skin under the sun. I used Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Liquid sunblock with SPF 55. I love this stuff because it's has a very light and thin consistency that is so easy to blend. Next, I applied a sheer layer of liquid foundation (MAC Studio Fix with SPF 25 in NC42) just enough to even out my skin tone, then liquid concealer (Almay Eye Base/Concealer in medium) under my eyes to make me look awake and then set everything with a translucent powder.

brows:
-I used NYC Browser Brow Kit. The wax helped sealed the brow powder on my brows.

eyes:
-I kept it very simple on the eyes. Too much eye shadow has a great chance of creasing under the hot sun. I applied a muted brown (MAC eye shadow in Cork) eye shadow on the crease using a fluffy blending brush to create a soft definition. I lined my eyes, upper lash line and water line with a black gel liner (Stila Smudge Pot in Black). Gel liner is great because it stays put all day and won't budge.

cheeks:
-I applied a sheer layer of capzi bronze color (MAC powder blush in Gingerly) on my cheeks just enough to give me a natural flush.

lips:
-I only wore a good lip balm (EOS lip balm in Summer Fruit) that's it. I didn't wanna deal with re applying lipstick or lip gloss.

After all of the above, I sprayed Graftobian Makeup Setting Spray a few times on my face. This step played an important role in keeping my makeup intact all day. It really does work!

  11. We want to the L.A fair about a month ago and loved it. We usually go once year. The best part is always trying the new deep fried goodness. Our most fave was deep fried oreos and twinkies.
