Middle of Nowhere FOTD

Hey guys, as promised here are the photos from my weekend getaway with my Baby Cakes. But first, I want to show you the makeup look I wore. I did an easy and simple natural look with a lot of emphasis on the eyes. I honestly didn't plan to wear any makeup at all. We went to the desert with no people in sight, and Kiko appreciates my "natural" beauty, so who cares right? But a little makeup was needed, so I can at least look decent in photos  lol.

Whenever I travel, I always feel the need to bring "everything". But I actually did a pretty good job bringing only what I really needed. Ooohhh that should be my next post... "What's in my Travel Makeup Bag!"

For this look, I kept it simple and natural with a lot of emphasis on the eyes.

- MAC Studio Fix Fluid in NC 42 applied with a wet sponge all over my face to even out my skin tone. I  chose this foundation because it has SPF 25 that provides sun block.
- Almay Eye Base/Concealer in Medium under my eyes to conceal under eye circles. This made me look like I had a full night of sleep.
- MAC Mineralized Skin Finish Natural in Medium Deep to set everything. I love this stuff!

- Almay Eye Base/Concealer in medium to prime the lids. This kept my eye makeup looking fresh.
- Wet n Wild I Heart Matte palette on my eyes. Beige all over the lids, Warm Peach and Brown on the crease and Black on the outer corner. I only used the Sigma Makeup blending brush. I gotta do a review on this brush. It's amazing. It can spread, define and blend shadows!
-Makeup Forever Aqua Eyes in Black on the upper lash line and water line. This liner stays on all day! I love it.
-L'Oreal Million Volume Lashes mascara.

-MAC powder blush in Melba. It's a matte pinky peach color.

-Wet n Wild ColorIcon nude lip liner all over the lips to conceal discoloration. It's the perfect natural nude!

It looks much darker in person.

Here are the photos from our trip. We went to the desert 29 Palms, which 3-4 hours away from Los Angeles, Ca. The desert is not really an ideal place for a vacation, but my Baby Cakes convinced me that it was going to be fun. And he was right. It was fun ^_^.

I hope you enjoy the photos.

On the way, we stopped by a Wind Farm. Did you know these things produce electricity? Pretty cool huh?

The Desert
The middle of nowhere is beautiful.

Amboy Crater

These are the lava rocks from the volcano. I'm not sure why it looks blue in photos, but it looks pretty cool!

We made it to the top of the crater and the view was breath taking. I know it may look like just a bunch of rocks, but the view was beautiful from the top.

Joshua Tree National Park

The signs had bullet holes WTH!

These big cacti are called Joshua Tree. Aren't they beautiful?

The biggest Joshua Tree was called the "Tree of Life". I love this pic!

All kinds of rock formations.

What do these rocks look like to you? LOL

That's my Baby Cakes on top.

Skull Rock
One of the favorite stops at park. Many floods and rock erosions caused this rock to form two hollowed eye sockets  that resemble a skull. That's amazing!

I hope you enjoy the photos and thanks for stopping by!
