Free Carmex Lip Balm (Lime Twist or Vanilla) at Walgreens

Guess what my new obsession is? Coupons! Ever since I saw an episode of Extreme Couponing on TLC, I've been wanting to be a couponer too. These "Extreme Couponers" have learned the simple basics of the coupon system and used that to save them a whole lot of money on grocery and drugstore products. It's amazing! They have a lot of short clips on youtube, so I suggest you check them out if you haven't seen it.

So I've been collecting coupons for almost a month now and I went to Walgreens today and matched some of the coupons I have with their sales.

Here's what I got...

I got this Carmex Lime Twist lip balm for FREE! 

Here's how:

Buy it for the retail price of $1.50 and you get $1.50 Register Rewards that prints out right after you pay. It's like I just got my money back and it's like paying $0. You can get back in line and pick up the same product and use your register reward right away or you can wait for another day. They have short expiration date so prefer using on the same day so I won't forget. 

I also got these 2 Crest Complete Multi-Benefit Whitening toothpaste for FREE!
Here's how:
They are currently on sale for 2/$5. I used a $1 off Crest coupons that I got on the Sunday paper for each toot paste which brings the total to $3. Then I got $3 Register Reawards back, which pretty much makes the total $0. It's like paying nothing. Again, I can use that Register Rewards on another transaction.

I used my $3 Register Rewards from purchasing Crest Toothpaste towards these Vanity Fair Dinner paper plates. They retail $4.99 and are currently on sale for BuyOneGetOne Free. I also used a 55cents off Vanity Fair Coupon that I got in the Sunday newspaper.
So $4.99- $3= $1.99- 55cents is $1.44
I could have used my $1.50 Register Rewards from my Carmex purchase, but I plan on going back to Walgreens and use it towards another Carmex lip balm.

Haul: Cute Bargain Finds at San Pedro Wholesale Mart (Fashion District)

I had a really fun and awesome time shopping with Kiko's sister in law, V! I took her to my favorite shopping place ever, the San Pedro Wholesale Mart in the Fashion District L.A. I've blogged about this place so many times, and seriously, if you're ever in L.A. you must stop by. All brand new clothes for the price as low as $5 for tops, 3 for $10, $5-10 for shorts, skirts and jeans. It honestly beats the price at the Alley, shopping malls and even thrift shops (sometimes). Here are some of the tops she got. I helped her picked out everything and encouraged her stay away from too many blacks and neutral lol. She liked them all!

I convinced her to to buy this mustard top from Forever21 $6. She's never wore this kind of color ever before. I told her it looks great on her medium skin tone. We also added this layered long necklace.

I was looking for a dress for a wedding Kiko and I are going to in two weeks, but I bought these leopard print top (Forever21) $6 and the tiger print cardigan $9 instead lol.  The blue top is so bright! Kiko doesn't like it. He said it's blinding him haha.

It was super fun and I can't wait to do it again V!

August 2011 Birchbox: Claudalie, Fix Malibu, Number 4 and Zoya

Late post on this month's Birchbox. I've seen and read about it already from other bloggers and I've read a lot of people's comments saying that they do not like it and some are even thinking of unsubscribing. I have to admit that this may not be the best Birchbox I've ever gotten compare to the full size Laura Geller blush from June's Birchbox, but I'm not disappointed at all. I love all the samples for this month, and I will continue to subscribe. Also, the full size Zoya nail polish included (such a gorgeous nude) is $8 and that's almost the cost of one month's Birchbox, so that's something to consider.

They're all high end deluxe beauty samples from brands I would never thought I would try. I don't know how well they would perform, but from reading the description card, they all sound great and very promising.

Outfit: Grey and Stripes

Thank you for all the warm greetings and wishes for my 9th yr anniversary with Kiko. You guys are so sweet. This is the outfit I wore to our fondue dinner at The Melting Pot. I bought this dress at the San Pedro Wholesale Mart for $5 a long time ago. The sleeves were actually long and did not look nice at all so I fold it up to my arms to make it look like baby sleeves. You can tell lol.

LOOK: The Big 9 Anniversary Makeup Look

Yeah, you read it right. Kiko and I just celebrated out 9 years anniversary. Isn't that crazy? When I made reservations for dinner, the host asked for what occasion and how many years we've been together and when I said 9 years, it hit me like...OMG! Are you serious, 9 years? lol. That's just nuts!

We met back in high school, which is ancient years ago in Spanish class and we started dating before he joined the military and we've together ever since. It's a total roller coaster ride, but we lasted this long because we are crazy about each other lol.

So this is the makeup look I did. I went for bold eye brows, barely there eye makeup, and hot red lips. I guess you can say I was going for a romantic and sexy look. There's nothing sexy than red lips right?

For the eye makeup, I used a matte french vanilla color (NYX eye shadow in Highlight $3.75 Buy it HERE) to neutralize the eye lids. Then, I applied a peach (Inglot peach e/s) and brown eye shadow (Mark I-Mark e/s in Espresso $5 Buy it HERE) on the crease. The peach adds warmth to the eyes. I lined my water line with a light pink eye liner (Benefit Eye Bright $20 Buy HERE), which makes gives the illusion of brighter and bigger eyes.

I have a lot of red lipsticks, but I used my MAC lipstick in Russian Red $14 (Buy HERE) , which is bright red with a slight blue base. I usually go for more of orange base reds because I think those work best against my medium skin tone, but Russian Red still looks good. It's so creamy and opaque and last for a long time. I just love it.
