Happy 1st Birthday Birchbox!!!

We all get a friendship bracelet!

I can't believe it! Birchbox is 1 year old this month of September, and I'm proud to say that I've been a loyal subscriber for 10 of those 12 months. I love Birchbox for 3 reasons... I love getting that bright pink box in the mail that makes me feel like it's my birthday every month, I love being able to try different high end beauty samples before I jump into buying a full size, and I just simply love trying out different beauty products without breaking the bank.

This month's Birchbox is quite special and they've included some of their favorite products that "...represent every aspect of the Birchbox personality.

Here are the samples...

Resilient Blinc Mascara.
I've heard many great things about this mascara, but the expensive price is what kept me from buying. I'm glad I'm able to try a sample size before I decide if it's worth the investment. It's supposed to be long wearing and water proof. I can't to try it!

Girly Harvey Prince Eau Flirt
I always enjoy a sample of perfume.  It smells very fresh with a burts of citrus ad jasmine.

Adventurous Incoco Nail Polish Applique'
I really like these nail strips a lot even though I'm not into nail polish/nail art. The design is super crazy and fun!

Practical Jouer Lip Enhancer
Birchbox must really love this product because this is my third lip enhancer. It's a really awesome product. It hydrates and conditions the lips very well.

Extra: Lash Card
This is a nice treat! I can't wait to test it with my mascaras.

Go to Bircbox.com to sign up and learn more about their company You will love it!

NYC Browser Brush-On Brow Kit in 876 Brunette

I just posted an eye brow tutorial using eye shadow powder which you can find HERE. It's usually my choice of filling in my eye brows, but recently I was able to try NYC Browser Brush-On Brow Kit in Brunette, and just fell in love with it. This compact brow kit has everything I need and more to fill in my brows...matte brow powder, wax, mini brow brush and mini tweezer.

What I like...
1. The brow powder is matte, sheer and the perfect brown (not reddish like others). It gives my brows a natural look.
2. I can add the wax to intensify the color and keeps my brows in place.
3. The mini tweezer actually works. Not the best but it works!
4. The mini angle brush is stiff, which enable me to create heavier lines.
5. The price is awesome! Only $2.99 at your local drugstores.

What I don't like..
1. None. Some people say the packaging sucks, but I think it's cool! It slides up to open.

How to use it

I still like filling in my brows using eye shadow powder, but at the moment I prefer my NYC Browser Brush-On Brown Kit. I love it!

Price: $2.99 or less
Availability: Drugstores

Tutorial: How I Fill In My Brows with Eye Shadow Powder

This video tutorial will show you how I fill in my eye brows using eye shadows. I use 2 shades of brown, MAC eye shadow in Cork ($15 Buy HERE) and Mark I-Mark eye shadow in Espresso ($5 Buy HERE).

I mentioned in the video that I'm not a big fan of really thin eye brows. I'm not trying to offend anyone who has thin eye brows. I don't like it because it makes me look old and gives my face an angry look.

I hope you find the video helpful

I am currently using NYC Browser Brush-On Brow Kit, which is my new favorite way to fill in my eye brows. Read my review HERE.

7 random things about me!

I was given an award by BeautyQueen101. Thank you! I have to tell you guys 7 random things about myself.

Here it is...

1. I love buffet restaurant. I'd pick a buffet over a fancy restaurant anytime ^_^.

2. Coupons is my new obsession. After watching TLC'c Extreme Couponing, I was so jealous with all the money those crazy ladies were saving, so I wanted to do it too.

3. I use orange juice in my marinades more than I drink it.

4. Kiko said I'm such a deep sleeper and he's jealous.

5. I love scary movies! I recently watched Inisdious on Netflix and that movie was a trip! It was predictable but it still gave me a pretty good scare. I couldn't get the devil's face off my head and the little boy dancing to the Tiny Tim song. I highly recommend it.

6. I have tiny and skinny feet O_O. I'm a size 5, and it's so difficult for me to find my size that fits. I always have to look in the kid's section.

7. I put ketchup in my McGriddle sandwich. Everyone says it's gross but I love it!

I give this award to everyone who wants to do this tag!

TAG: What's In My Bathroom...Do it!

Enter my Specific Beauty Regimen Bundle Giveaway! Click HERE

I want to start this "What's In My Bathroom" TAG. I'm not sure if it's been done before, but I haven't seen it in other blogs, so I'm assuming it's the first. I have quite a lot of beauty and body products in my bathroom I thought would be worth sharing. I hope you guys find it interesting.

On the left side of the counter are all the main beauty and hair products I use on an everyday basis

1.Goldafen Hair Suppressant- Ok I just lied. I haven't used this product at all lol. It was sent to me by the company as sample to try. It's supposed to slow the growth of body hair. Once I try it, I will let you guys know what I think.

2. Cellnique Advance Bio Renewal Mask- This stuff is probably one of the best scrub/mask I've ever tried. After one use, it really makes my face feel really clean and fresh. And it smells amazing, like sweet pineapples!

3. L'Oreal Perfect Fix Ultra FineSpray- This affordable drugstore hairspray is amazing! It keeps my hair in place all night long and even the next day.

4. Tresemme Heat Tammer Spray- It's very important to use a heat protectant before using hot tools on your hair, especially when you do it on an everyday basis. It will prevent the hair from getting damaged.

5. Tresemme Vitamin Enriched Volumizing Mousse- Hair styling is so much easier with this product and it smells really nice.

Sorry I made a mistake and labeled two 6's in the photo.

6. Ped Egg- I'm not embarrassed to show that I own a Ped Egg. I love this stuff. My sole gets tough from time to time and this cheese grater for the feet does a great job and getting rid of the rough skin and makes my feet smooth.

6. Yes To Carrots Body Butter- I've done a review on this body butter and I love it. I use it on an everyday basis right after I get out of the shower. It makes my body feel soft and smooth.

7. Yes To Tomatoes Daily Balancing moisturizer- I enjoy this moisturizer at night before I go to bed. It's thick and takes quite awhile to get absorbed into the skin, but once it does, it makes my face feel soft and smooth.
Yes To Carrots Daily Moisturizer with SPF 15- This is a suncreen and moisturizer at the same time. It      has spf 15 that protects me from the sun, and it does a great job in keeping my face moisturized.

8. Double Sided Mirror- I have it just because...why not!

9. Lubriderm Daily Moisturizing Lotion with Shea Butter- This is Kiko's choice of Lotion. He's not picky with body lotions, but he's been buying Lubriderm a lot lately. Besides the sweet Shea Butter scent that we really like, it has intense moisturizing ability to make our skin super soft.

10. Canus Goat's Milk Moisturizing Lotion with Marigold's Oil- I've only used it once. I gotta give it more tries to be able to tell if I really like it or not.

And here's what's inside the small drawer. It's all random samples of highend beauty products from my Birchbox packages.

...except for the Milcu Roll-On Deodorant, which is a Filipino brand and was given to me by my mom ^_^.

Our toothbrushes..Mine is the pink one of course ^_^

I keep a wide tooth comb in the shower to detangle my hair after conditioning. My hair is really long, and it makes it easier to comb my hair after drying.

My hair and body care products starting on the side of the bath tub. Starting from the left...

-Up&Up Dandruff  Shampoo, a Target brand. My scalp is really dry so I must use a shampoo for dry scalp. It works just as well as Head and Shoulders and it's cheaper.

-Soft Soap Juicy Pomegranate and Mango Infusions- It stuff smells amazing! I bought this at CVS as part of my "Extreme Coupon" moment lol. I got it for free after coupons plus it printed out a $2 Register Rewards, which I rolled over in an another transaction.

-Canus Goat's Milk Body Wash- I've had this for the longest time and I was finally able to use it. The consistency is very thick and not as creamy as Soft Soap. However, it does a great job in cleaning my body, so it's a keeper.

-Finesse Revitality Volumize and Correct Shampoo- I use this a few times a week as an alternate to my dandruff shampoo. It helps strengthen my hair and I notice lesser breakage.

-Suave Naturals Conditioner- I got it at Walmart for less than $2. It's not the best hair conditioner I've ever tried. The consistency is quite lumpy and makes my hair frizzy. However, it's sweet pee and violet scent is really nice, and I will still keep using it since I don't want to waste it.

-Dove Cream Oil Body Wash- Too bad we are almost out of it because we enjoy this body wash a lot. It's best for night showers because it feels luxurious and quite relaxing on the skin.

-Clean and Clear Blackhead Facial Scrub- This affordable scrub is what I've been using for a long time now. I alternate it with my Dermalogica Scrub and Clay Mask. The beads are bigger, but very gentle on the face.

-Noxema Clean Blemish Control Daily Scrub- I don't like it. This is Kiko's scrub, and he prefers it over the Clean and Clear. It's quite thick and the exfoliants are like fine sugar that takes forever to melt no matter how you scrub it on your face. I find it too harsh! It also gives a cooling sensation afterwards, which doesn't help when my face feels like it's burning already.

That's about it!

I encourage everyone to do this TAG if you are interested. I'm nosey, and it would be so much fun to see what kind of beauty products you have in your bathroom. Let me know if you do one, so I can post it here on my blog and let everyone know on Facebook and Twitter.

Outfit: Animal Print and Hot Pink

Back then I never liked anything animal print. In fact, I hated it. It reminded of something those "working girls" would wear as they parade down on Figueroa (you probably know what I mean if you're from L.A lol). But now I love animal prints...zebra, tiger, cheetah and ect. I guess because they're in trend and I see younger people wear them and it convinced me that it's okay to wear them too lol. But Kiko doesn't like them. He said animal print hurts his eyes lol.

Here is the outfit I wore the other day to the grocery store. I wore this black and white animal print cardigan with a hot pink camisole. I like the contrast of the bright solid color against wild prints.

cardigan- $8 San Pedro Wholesale Mart
camisole- $2 San Pedro Wholesale Mart
jeggings- $6 Forever 21
necklacke- $9 Forever 21

Oh and this is Kiko's shirt from American Rag. It's one of my favorite T-shirts, so I thought I post it too ^_^

I hope you guys are having a great weekend!

Yes To Tomatoes Clear Skin Acne Roller Ball Spot Stick!

I just want to share one of the newest products of Yes To, the Yes To Tomatoes Acne Roller Ball Spot Stick. It looks like the Garnier Fruitis' Eye Roller. I haven't tried it for myself, but the ad says, 98% of users claims it works. I use the Yes To Tomatoes Daily Balancing Moisturizer which is perfect for oily skin and I love it, so I'm assuming I might like this product too. I do get random breakouts on my face a few times a month specially when that "time of the month" comes and this sounds like the perfect product to try out.

price: $9.99

Katy Perry Smurf Movie Premier Makeup Using Drugstore Products

Love, love, love Katy Perry's makeup and outfit at the Smurf movie premier. She wore this mini strapless white dress with a sequined Smufette on the front. Totally ridiculous and hot! It was cute yet very sexy...probably too sexy because at times you could see her white undies as she walked the red carpet lol.

Her makeup was a bright baby blue eyes with pink lips, which tied into the whole "Smurf" theme very well, but not in a clownish or cheesy way. It's a fun and bright makeup look you can wear for night time...I would.

photos taken from google.com

The main colors I used on my eyes are from NYC City Duet Eye Shadow Duet in Yankee Blues. See swatches HERE. It's my first time using both colors in a look and it worked very well. The baby blue (almost like turquoise in some angles) and the periwinkle blue really complimented each other. And it's perfect for my Katy Perry Smurf makeup inspired look ^_^.

NYX blush in Angel (baby pink with a bit of shimmers) for my cheeks and Wet n Wild Mega Last lip color in Hot Pink for my lips.

All the products I used are drugstore makeup or affordable makeup except for the liquid foundation.

Products used:

face:
-Rimmel London Fix and Perfect foundation primer
-MAC Studio Fix Fluid in NC42
-Almay Bright Eyes concealer/eye base in Medium
-Sally Hansen powder foundation

eyes:
-NYC Individual Eyes eye shadow palette created for Green Eyes
-NYC City Duet eye shadow in Yankee Blues

cheeks:
-NYX powder blush in Angel

lips:
-EOS lip balm in Summer Fruit
-Wet n Wild Mega Last lipstick
