Good Luck!

Brow Tutorial Using Wet n Wild I Heart Matte palette

Not to sound cocky or anything, but I have awesome eyebrows ! It's my most favorite part of my face. My brows are quite full and bold and I can sometimes get away with not filling them in, but I still do it because it really defines my face. I can go out in public with no makeup on (well, a little concealer under the eyes), but I have to have my brows done. I just have to! I feel more confident and normal with my brows all glammed up...whatever the heck that means O_o.

So I did a video tutorial on how I fill them in using my Wet n Wild Color Icon I Heart Matte eye shadow palette. Besides creating endless beautiful eye makeup looks, you can also use this palette to fill in your brows. I used the neutral colors in the palette :black, brown and warm peach. I found these colors perfect for my brows because they are matte, meaning no shimmers or iridescent to them and they don't have any red understones. They look very natural.

I hope you enjoy this tutorial, and thank you for stopping by!

I just signed up for MyGlam! $10 Beauty Bag!

Hello everyone! I'm excited to let you all know that I just signed up for MyGlam. I did it right after I watched AndreasChoice's video announcement on youtube. Her hotness pretty much persuaded me to do so. If you haven't heard of MyGlam, it's pretty much just like Birchbox! It's a monthly subscription service where you get 4-5 beauty samples or full size products each month for only $10. It's founded by the famous and the beautiful Michelle Phan along with well known beauty gurus on youtube... AndreasChoice, Promise Phan, Bethany and Jessica Harlow. I'm so excited so see what this service has to offer.

(photo taken from MyGlam.com)

Besides the fact that I have a lady crush on Andrea, the other reason why I signed up for MyGlam is because I want to see how it compares to Birchbox. Not that I'm planning to discontinue it, I just want to see which one I would like better. Also, I love the idea of trying different beauty products for the price of $10. Can't beat that!

As you can see in the photo above there is an NYX product, which is not a high-end brand, but great one. So, I'm assuming MyGlam will also include drugstore brands? (not sure!), unlike Birchbox which are all high-end samples. They will also have beauty tutorials on how to use the products in MyGlam bag, which I'm looking forward to watch ^_^.

I can't wait to receive my very first MyGlam bag next month. Of course, I will do a post, even a video to express my thoughts.

You should check out MyGlam.com to see if you will like it!

NYC New York Color Smooch Proof LIPStain 16H Photos/Swatches

Does your boyfriend, husband or significant other ever complain when they can't kiss you because you're wearing lipstick? It happens to me all the time. Kiko hates it when he can't even get a peck because I'm wearing my favorite dark berry lipstick and I don't want him to eat it. Well, I'm happy to say that with NYC New York Color Smooch Proof LIPStain 16H, I don't have to worry about it anymore! These lip stains, just like the name says are "Smooch Proof". It stays on my lips for hours and no matter how much Kiko kisses me, my lip color stays on vibrant and fabulous!

NYC New York Color says...
(taken from NYC website)

"NYC New York Color Smooch Proof 16HR Lip Stain stays put, providing a sheer to intense flush of color that sticks around longer than most guys in the City. This is no on-again, off-again relationship. Color stays faithful for up to 16 hours. Looking for happily ever after for a very happy price? Let your lips do the charming!"

What I like...
-The fine tip pen/marker style packaging is awesome. It makes application much easier and outlining the lips a breeze. It tickles my lips though lol.
-It doesn't bleed.
-The color pay off is like a lipstick, especially when you apply in layers. It's very pigmented. (Make sure you let one layer dry first before adding another layer)
-I can control the coverage from sheer to full. I can layer the colors for more coverage.
-It stays on for hours. It last about 4-6 hours for me before I started noticing a little fading, which is pretty good.
-It looks great on its own or under a lip balm.
-It has a nice scent. Kiko says it smells like cherries ^_^.
-For $4.99 a pop, these are definitely a great bargain!

What I don't like...
-NONE!

Here are all the lip stains I own. All are beautiful colors. I will have separate swatches on my lips in the future. For now, I hope you find these photos and swatches on my arm helpful in picking colors you like.

I'm wearing 2 layers of Forever Mine Wine. This is the most pigmented lip stain out of all. It's actually more than a stain, it's like a lipstick...Amazing!

I highly recommend these lip stains. They're pigmented, long lasting and smooch proof! Trust me, you're partner will thank you!

Birchbox October and November 2011

Better late than never. Here are my Birchbox for the month of October and November 2011. There was a little problem with my Birchbox account, so I got them quite late. I love all the product samples I got. Most are from brands I've never heard of. I'm so excited to try them.

October Birchbox 2011
"Prep and Finish"

Amika Obliphica Hair Treatment
full price: $34
I have to admit. I don't do a great job in taking care of my hair and I surely need something like this. It's a hair oil that controls frizz and adds shine to the hair.

Anastasia Beverly Hills HydraFull Gloss in Bellini
full price: $21
I'm a sucker for peach lippies! This gloss not only adds shine to the lips, it also plumps and hydrates.

Clark's Botanicals Intense Radiance Mask
full price: $72
I'm very excited to try this mask. It's the most expensive sample in the box. It promises to detoxify pores, calms irritation and get rid of blemishes. It sounds amazing!

Laura Geller Spakle Tinted Under Makeup Primer in Bronze
full price: $25
I actually have this one already, but I haven't tried it yet. It's supposed to give your face a flawless canvass for foundation to go onto and give you a nice glow at the same time.

EXTRA: The Laundress Wool & Cashmere Shampoo
It's detergent for your sweaters so make sure you don't put it in your hair lol.

November Birchbox 2011
"Getting Nitty"

Atelier Cologne Vanille Insensee Cologne Absolue
full price: 170
I've said it many times that I'm not a perfume person, but I really like this scent because it smells like vanilla.

Borghese Fango Active Mud
full price: $64
It has avocado and sweet almond oils to smooth skin on face and body.

LaRocca Skincare Champagne & Shimmer Supreme Creme
full price: $35
It's a body creme shimmer with shea butter and olive oil that leaves the skin firm and supple. It smells amazing!

Zoya Nail Polish in Izzy
full price: $8
This bold reddish-pink shade with lot of shimmers will be the perfect color for the holidays.

EXTRA: Two Paper Dolls Ampersand Coasters
I thought these are quite cool. We never use coasters in our house, so I guess this will be the first lol.

FOTD: Red Velvet

Today, Kiko and I woke up early to buy our very first Christmas tree. I'm so excited. We are going to make it a tradition to get a Christmas tree after Thanksgiving. Unfortunately, they weren't too many places selling them yet, so we came home empty handed. We will go again next week.

Here is the look I wore. Sorry if I covered my eyes with my big sunglasses. My eyes were very puffy lol. I only had a sheer coverage of liquid foundation, concealer, brows, blush and Red Velvet by Wet n Wild on my lips. I instantly fell in love with this color right after I put it on. It's a cherry red color. It's fabulous!

Wet n Wild Mega Last lipstick in Red Velvet

The color is a bright cherry red. It looks delicious like a Red Velvet cake!

It looks reddish pink in this photo, but it's a bright cherry red in person.

I got this sequined purple boots at Target yesterday for $20. Kiko said it's the most ridiculous thing he has ever seen, but I love it!

I'm Thankful For...

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone who celebrates it. I just wanna share some things I'm thankful for this year. I have to remind myself these things whenever I feel down. Sometimes, I forget how lucky I am.

(in random order)
1. Heavenly Father. I have questioned his love a few times before because of all the hard times my family and I have been through. But I ignored the fact that HE still bless us in so many ways. For example, my grandma is still alive and well at 88 and we get to enjoy her company, and I have 3 beautiful nieces and a nephew that brings joy to our lives.
2. My family. I have hurt them in the past, but they still showed how much they love me. I'm so lucky.
3. Kiko. I don't think I call him my best friend, but he is. I love him.
4. Monica. She's my best friend since college. She has my back no matter what.
5. Vieve. My other best friend since childhood.
6. Blogger. My blogger friends makes me happy.
7. Kiko's family. They never made me feel like a stranger. They love me.
8. Neni. She's the sweetest dog ever.
9. Travel Channel. The channel I watch the most.
10. Facebook. It makes keeping in touch with friends so much easier.
11. Friends. The handful of friends I have are the best!

and etc...

My best Monica and I

My grandma and Momocito.

My nieces.

What about you, what are you thankful for?

Makeup Forever Aqua Eyes in Mat Black

It's been forever since I did a high-end product review on this blog. I give more attention to my drugstore makeup because I love them so much that I have forgotten my high-end ones that are worth mentioning. I got this Make Up For Ever Aqua Eyes eye liner in Mat Black in a Holiday Kit as a gift from Kiko last Christmas, and I only got around to using it these past couple of months. I'm weird, I know!

The Make Up For Ever line is known to have great quality makeup and I have heard so many great things about this liner, so I already knew it going to be great. And it is! This eye liner pencil is awesome and far by the best eye liner pencil I've ever tried.

Description taken from Sephora.com:
-An award-winning, waterproof, smudge-proof, and fade-proof eyeliner that doubles as a vibrant eyeshadow.

-This best-selling eyeliner has become a favorite among all women who fear the dreaded raccoon eyes. Formulated to glide on effortlessly and withstand the most extreme conditions, it stays put on eyelids without melting for precise application and intense color throughout the day.

What I like:
-The texture is soft enough to apply on the eye lids and water line without tugging on the skin.
-It's easy to smudge and dries to a matte finish.
-The color black is a true black...not gray or greyish black..It's black!
-Works great as a dark base underneath eye shadows to intensify the color.
-It really is waterproof, smudge proof and last all day! I wore it when I went to the dessert with Kiko. We were out the whole day and I even scratched my eyes a couple of times. When I got home, I looked in the mirror and it was still there! The liner on the water line faded a little, but it was still visible. Other liners melts in a matter of minutes.

What I don't like:
-The price. $18 is pretty expensive for an eye liner. That's like 18 Double Cheeseburgers at MickeyD's! But I say it's worth it. It's stays on all day and you don't have to worry about touch ups.
-I cringe a bit whenever I sharpen it because I waste a little bit of the product. A retractable pencil would be ideal.

I know it's expensive, but I think it's worth the investment (It's funny how I call an expensive makeup an investment so I can make myself feel better lol). I even bought another one for my freelance makeup kit. You can go to a Sephora near you so you can give it a test drive before you purchase. Or just ask your friends and family to get you one for Christmas ^_^.

price: $18
availability: Sephora
