FOTN: It's A Date!

What makes going out with your other half a date? Fancy restaurant, flowers, movies? For me, it doesn't matter where I go with my baby cakes. As long as I'm dolled up, it's a date! Just like when we went out for a dinner date the other night. I got all dolled up, and I was very excited to spend quality food time with him.

For my makeup, I usually like to do a quick smoky eyes because it's sexy and sultry and it's one of Kiko's favorite looks on me. But this time, I went for a more natural and simple look. I focused more on my skin, making it look flawless as possible.

How I create a flawless skin

My skin has been very dry and the only product that keeps it moisturized is my Yes To Carrots Night Cream. It's very thick and emollient, a face primer is not necessary. I apply it on my face down to my neck. Then, I use my fingers to apply MAC Studio Fix Fluid in NC42 all over my face. The warmth of my fingers helps the foundation blend well onto my skin, making it look natural. For concealer, my choice is Avon Anew Ageless liquid concealer in medium and I apply it under my eyes and around my nose. It's light weight and conceals slight dark circles very well. Then, I did a light sweep of my favorite face powder, MAC Mineralized Skin Finish Natural in Medium Deep to set the makeup in place. 

eyes:

- Wet n Wild Color Icon I Heart Matte eyeshadow palette: beige all over the lids and brow bone and warm flesh and brown on the crease. 

- Stila Smudge Pot in black on the upper lash line, then a thin wing liner passing the outer corner (I told you, I have a thing for winged liner lol).

-Lots and lots of coats of Sephora Advance Lash Booster mascara on my lashes.

cheeks:

-MAC blush in Melba on the apple of the cheeks.

-Milani Mosaic blush in Afterglow under the cheekbones to make them pop and give the face a defined and contoured look.

lips:

-Pangea Organics lip balm to moisturize the lips very well.

-Revlon lipstick in Peach. It's one of my favorites. The natural peachy color makes me look fresh!

Outfit

I wore my cheetah print silk top from Ann Taylor. I feel like this kind of print makes me look old, so I added a layered necklace and bangled bracelet from Ann Taylor as well to glam it up!

Now, onto the food. We went to Ruth's Chris Steak House in Beverly Hills, thanks to his brother who gave him a gift card for his birthday. We rarely dine in steak restaurants because we're not big on steak, but Ruth's Chris was amazing! Everything was perfect...ambiance, service and food!

Warm French baguette with whipped butter...

Kiko had their Filet and Lobster tail. It melts in your mouth!

I had the Ribeye with blue cheese crust on top. Super soft and tender.

Crunchy Tempura battered Onion rings

Sauteed Mushrooms. They are big and meaty.

I like my steak cooked Medium...mmmmmm.

Chocolate Lava cake for dessert... Decadent and delicious!

There is only 12 hours left before 2012 comes in. I hope you all had a great 2011. This year wasn't too nice to me, but I'm staying positive and I know 2012 will be an awesome year...I hope!

Christmas Makeup Look and Outfit + Food Porn

Thanks to everyone who left a comment on my Walking On Eggshells After Christmas FOTD. You guys are always sweet. As promised, here is the makeup and outfit I wore on Christmas. I went for a sophisticated glam look.

For my makeup, I just had to go bold and do red lips. What's more "Christmasy" than red lips right? It's festive, fun and very sexy! I kept the eye makeup minimal to compliment bold lips by using browns on the crease, a shimmery champagne on the lids, lots and lots of mascara and winged liner. I currently have a thing for wing liner, and I find myself doing it in a lot of my looks.

I'm not sure if you notice, but I'm not wearing any blush. I skipped it and just went straight to bronzer and applied it under my cheekbones to contour my face. I love doing this little trick because it gives the illusion of defined cheekbones, making my face look slimmer....yeeeaah!

For a long lasting red lips, apply NYC New York Color 16Hr LipStain in Rock on Ruby on the lips, top it off with MAC lipstick in Ruby Woo, then set it with a powder.

Now for my outfit, I wore a tank dress with metallic gold bronzey top with a dark grey skirt and my Ann Taylor blazer over it. I love wearing this blazer. It looks great on anything, and It makes any outfit look sophisticated. And I also love this dress. It has a stretch waist that gives my body an instant shape. 

Lots of "bling" for accessories. I wore my Ann Taylor layered necklace and bracelet.

I like this photo. You can see the contour under my cheekbones very well.

These are my $10 purple faux suede pumps from my Downtown L.A. Fashion District haul. I take back what I said about them being uncomfortable. I was actually able to walk in them all night and surprisingly didn't hurt my feet. No kidding!

Now, onto Food Porn...Lets start with Christmas Eve dinner with my family. My cousin cooked everything with the help of my aunt. I'll let the photos speak for themselves. 

 Christmas morning was spent with my Kiko, and we had sugar for breakfast... pancakes, cookies and eggnog HA! We also exchanged presents. I got him his video game he's been wanting, while he got me a Crock Pot. I can't to try some slow cook recipes.

Then, we had Christmas dinner with his family. His sisters are awesome cooks, and I loved everything. We had roast beef, meat loaf, greens, corn bread, brussel sprouts, mashed potatoes and tamales. Jealous? You should be!

I wanted nothing more than a waffle maker (and crock pot) for Christmas, and I got it! Can you see how happy I am with my cheesy smile? Thank you, Santa! I mean, thank you, Nena and Kiko!

FOTD: Walking on Eggshells After Christmas

Hello everyone! I hope you had an awesome Christmas with your family and friends. I know I did! I got a Waffle Maker and Crock Pot that I've been wanting YAAAAY!!! I can't wait to try some slow cook recipes and make Chicken and Waffles for breakfast...Come on over!

This post is supposed to be my Christmas makeup and outfit, but I'm still in the process of editing the photos. Instead, I'll share the makeup look I did today. It's a simple and neutral, great for everyday look!

Do you like my Candy Cane earrings? They are so cute!

I used my Wet n Wild Color Icon Eyeshadow Trio in Walking On Eggshells ($2.99-Drugstores). This trio has 3 beautiful neutral colors: light pink, light brown and beige. They are pigmented, soft and very easy to blend. The finish are all shimmery, but are still wearable for daytime. It's also great for beginners because it tells you where to place the colors.

















For lips, I used my NYC New York Color Smooch Proof 16 HR LipStain in Forever Freesia (CLICK HERE to see more). It's a pretty sheer pink with purple undertone. It went very well with the neutral eyes.
