If there's one thing I'm obsessed with besides makeup and food, it's got to be makeup brushes! I guess I can call myself a makeup brush whore because I own way too many makeup brushes a girl need and I go from brush to brush and is never satisfied haha... The brushes I'm about to show you are the main brushes I use a lot. I still have more brush sets hidden that I haven't even used. I know, it's that bad! But hey, it's better than drugs and alcohol right? Those will not make you pretty at all!
So, here is how I store my brushes. I use a big utensil/flatware tray that I got from Ikea (I forgot how much, but it shouldn't be more than $10). Before, I used to store them in one of those "Sephora inspired" makeup brushes that everybody seem to love. It's basically a clear glass with tiny beads where you can stick your makeup brushes. Don't get me wrong. It looks very pretty on top my vanity and is like a decorative piece, but there is one problem. It eats too much dust. I didn't like how I had to brush off the dust before using it.
Dust = Grossie! So, I thought of storing them on a tray instead. It fits nicely in my drawer and it's dust free!!!
There are also wooden trays and those cheap plastic utensil trays that works just as well. You can find them at your local Home Good, Ikea, Target, Walmart, 99cents store and other stores that may sell kitchen organization stuff.
Just like my makeup, I don't discriminate with makeup brushes. I own all kinds of brand from high end to drugstore such as MAC, Smashbox, Sigma Makeup, EyesLipsFace, Eco Tools, Costco Kirkland, and etc. I love them all!!!

I store them standing up but I recently bought a case wherein I can let my brushes lay down a bit! heheheh I love how you store your brushes!!!

ReplyDeleteaagh smart :D! i don't keep my brushes out too because of dust ^^! since i don't use my eye shadows or blush on a daily basis it's best to not have them out collecting dust :/

I usually store them up right in a spinning type of container that I got from Staples ages ago. Nowadays, I don't really have much time to get ready so I just lay flat whatever brush I use the most. Instant access! Hahahahah

I store most of my brushes in a drawer too, I don't like them exposed to air and dust. Love the multi-drawer idea.
