Daily Beauty: NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Tokyo

WHO: Swatch of NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Tokyo.

WHAT: A pale pink lipstick cream with a matte finish.

NYX cosmetics says, " Neither lipstick nor lip gloss—this is matte lip cream. A new kind of pout paint that goes on silky smooth and sets to a matte finish. Soft Matte Lip Cream is surprisingly durable and, unlike some matte lipstick formulas, also moisturizing. Available in 11 lip colors.

WHEN: Permanent

WHERE:, and Boutiques and Beauty stores that carries NYX cosmetics.
               retail price: $5.99

I really like the idea of a lipstick cream. It's much easier to apply and last longer than a regular lipstick. Tokyo is a pale pink shade that doesn't really compliment my medium/tan skin tone very well. It makes my lips look ashy. It looks much better on pale to light skin tone. Obsessed with Cake Pops!

Non makeup/beauty related post.

So today, I had a random thought that I want to learn how to make cake pops. Next thing I knew, I spent 3 hours browsing the internet for cake pop photos and cake pop how to videos on Youtube. I know, I need a life! But seriously, they are so adorable. If you don't know what cake pops are, they are pretty much a cake formed into a ball on a lollipop stick. I actually want them at my wedding. They would be a beautiful and fun center piece for the dessert table I'm planning to have. Don't know what flavor, color and style yet, but that's why I want to try and experiment!

Here are some of the cake pop photos I found on Google. Gaaahhhh...They are super cute and adorable. I included the links of the website where I found them so you can check them out.

This is a cool video on how to make homemade cake pops from left over cake and icing.

Or maybe I can just buy a cake pop mold just like this product in the video.

Or what if I try these cake pop maker from Babycakes. I bought the their cupcake maker before for a gift to my best friend and it works great.

I will surely let you guys know whatever I decide ^_^.

What do you guys think about cake pops?

Hey guys, happy Sunday! I want to share one of the makeup looks I did when I was in Las Vegas last weekend. Click HERE and HERE to see photos from my trip. I did a simple neutral eye makeup with shimmery lids and a pop of bright blue. Shimmers and a pop of color are great ways to add interest to a simple neutral eye makeup. It's one of my favorite looks for the Spring and Summer.

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On pencil in Radium on the upper lash line.

L'Oreal Infallible eye shadow in Amber Rush on the eye lids and Wet n Wild I Heart Matte palette on the crease, outer corner and brow bone. Love these products!!! WnW Matte palette is so versatile and Amber Rush is the most gorgeous shimmery champagne bronze color.

Products used:

-MAC Studio Fix Fluid in NC42 applied on the face using a wet sponge for a sheer and light finish.
-Almay Eyebase concealer in light/medium applied lightly under the eyes and blended with the same wet sponge.
-MakeUpForEver HD powder lightly dusted on the face to set the makeup.

-Urban Decay eye shadow primer applied lightly on the lids to keep the colors fresh and saturated.
-Wet n Wild I Heart Matte eye shadow palette using brown on the crease and a little black on the outer corner. Blend with a blending brush.
-L'Oreal Infallible eye shadow in Amber Rush on the lids. It adds a beautiful shimmers on the eyes.
-Urban Decay 24/7 Glide on pencil in Radium on the upper lash liner for a pop of color.
-Urban Decay 24/7 Glide on pencil in Zero on the water line to add more definition to the eyes.
-L'Oreal Voluminous False Lashes mascara applied generously on the lashes.

Sample Society...High-end beauty products for $15

I noticed so many monthly subscription services are becoming more and more popular these days. What's not to like? You pay a small fee every month and you get products straight to your door or mailbox. For example, I'm subscribed to Birchbox and Myglam and I pay $10 a month and they send me 4-5 deluxe beauty samples. It's a great way to try different products and see what works for you without braking the bank.

Here's another service that you might find interesting. Allure magazine and, an online luxury beauty boutique recently launched Sampling Society.

What is it?
Sampling Society is a monthly subscription service where you pay $15 a month and you get 5 deluxe beauty samples "from the chicest makeup, fragrance, skincare and hair care brands". The samples are said to be big enough for more than once use, so you can really test the products.

Members also will receive a $15 off coupon code they can use on towards any products from the month's featured brand, and a one year subscription to Allure magazine

I've never tried this service before, but I think I'm going to consider. $15 a month is affordable and the promise of 5 deluxe/big product samples is attractive!

If you want to learn more about this service to click HERE

Have you heard of this service before? I would love to hear your thoughts.

Biore Pore Strips Review

Is it weird that I get a kick out of seeing the nasty gunk on pore strips? Especially when I use these Biore Deep Cleansing Pore Strips. They are amazing and gets all the gunk such as blackheads and whiteheads off my nose and face. It's amazing and disgusting at the same time. You should try it.

What I like:
  • Ease of use. Just follow the directions and you won't mess up.
  • It fits every nose size. It fits my nose, Kiko's nose and a friend's nose ^_^.
  • Effectiveness. It really works and removes blackheads and white heads amazingly!
  • Non irritating. I didn't get any allergic reaction, burns or irritation.

What I don't like:
  • The price. It cost about $7 for 6 strips. I got mine at CVS with a free Biore face wash coupon which you can see HERE. I suggest using it once a week so it's not too heavy on the pocket.

You get 6 strips in the box.

How to use
They have directions on the back of the packaging for a reason. Follow it. As suggested, it's best to wash your face first. You get better results when you wash your face then wet your nose because your pores are more open.

Here's what the peel looks like after I took it off. It's ewwww and awesome at the same time. You can really see how much blackheads and some whiteheads was removed .

These strips are great for a quick and non stressful way of removing white and black heads, but they are costly so I suggest using them once or twice a week. I love them and will continue using them.

Have you used it before? How do you like it?

Vegas Recap Day 3 and 4: Michale Jackson's Dad, David Copperfield, Bass Pro Shops,The Buffet and Studio B

Here is part 2 of our Las Vegas trip. You can see part 1 HERE. Get ready for some more photos and major food porn!

Day 3

Sunday: I took a photo in front of the "Welcome Las Vegas" sign. I know, very touristy, but I don't care. It's such a beautiful sign. It's even more beautiful at night with sparkly bright lights.

We had brunch at The Buffet inside the Wynn hotel and casino. rated it top 10 best buffets in Vegas and Yelp rated it 4 stars. The line to get in was very long but we were commintted. We were hungry and literally drooling over the photos on Yelp.

The long wait was worth it. Just like Wicked Spoon, they had a variety of food to choose from and were served and presented elegantly. Everything I had was amazing. Very fresh and delicious! Also, the decor was beautiful and whimsical and the service was great as well.

Wynn Las Vegas
3131 Las Vegas Blvd S

Las VegasNV 89109
Brunch $35

Plate 1: Cucumber gazpacho, squid salad, shrimp with cocktail and hollandaise sauce. Their shirmp cocktail was addictive. It was sweet by itself and it was even better with the cocktail sauce and hollandaise. I had 3 cucumber gazpacho because it was that good. Very cool and refreshing with a hint of sweetness. The squid was very soft and tender and had a nice tangy sauce. I ate it with a tostada shell.

Tomato gazpacho with mozarella ball. Very yummy too!

Plate 2: As you can see I got more of the shrimp cocktail. Then, I tried their sushi rolls and smoked salmon with capers and horseradish on toast. Salmon and sushi rolls were fresh and delicious.

Plate 3 Ham and egg benedict, baked salmon, pork bbq bun, pepper crusted smoked bacon and prime rib with hollandaise sauce. They smoke their own bacon, OMG. I just died.

Plate 4: For brunch, they had a great selection of desserts, but these were the ones that caught my eye.
vanilla cream puff, banana bread pudding, chocolate brownie mousse, blueberry and lemon custard and white chocolate covered marshmallow pop. Everything was delicious, but my favorite is the banana bread pudding. It's warm, moist and comforting.

White espresso and coconut gelato. I ate it with the bread pudding ^_^.

See that man in a light brown jacket with a black hat? That's Michael Jackson's dad. I saw him in front of The Buffet while waiting for Kiko. Pretty random huh? A hot Asian chick was walking with him and 3 big body guards.

Afterwards, we went to Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World. It's like Sephora for men but 10X bigger. It's a one stop shop for outdoor sports such as fishing, hunting, shooting and etc. They have fishing gears, clothing, boats, motor bikes and etc. It even has it's own hotel, casino and restaurant.

Also, if you watch the reality show Top Shot on History channel, then you probably know that Bass Pro Shops is their major sponsor. Kiko and I love that show. He actually got me into it! I always mimic how the host talk especially when he says, "The winner of this challenge will receive $2,000 gift card from Baaaaaaass Pro Shop" with hands on his waist lol.

People were literally staring at me as I posed next to this big horn lol.

They offer fishing lessons for free!

This place is huge!!! All I did was follow Kiko around and took pictures ^_^.

I want one of these camouflage tents. It's too cute!

Sat down on the fish bench to take a little break.

After Bass Pro Shops, we went back to our hotel to rest. Then, we went to see David Copperfield live on stage. If you don't know who he is, he is a very popular illusionist and according to Oprah, "The Greatest Illusionist of our time". We decided to see him because we wanted to see some kind of magic show. Well, he didn't disappoint. We enjoyed his performance. He was very funny and was very good at what he does. He did some tricks that I thought was worth the expensive ticket price lol.

After the show, around 8:30pm, we decided to walk on the strip. It was still very hot and dry (98 degrees), but I didn't mind. I like how I was able to wear my tank dress and sandals at night. We also gambled a little. It wasn't planned, but we went inside Ceasar's Palace and next thing you know, we were on the slot machines.

How cute is this? Breakfast at Tiffany's slot machines.

Penny slot machine for me! And look, I won $16.20! Whoo hoo...I lost it after 30 minutes though haha...Dang it!

Random photos on the strip. It's so beautiful!

Day 4

Monday: All our bags are packed and ready to go! We checked out around 10:30 and headed to a buffet for our last meal in Vegas!

I was so tired when when I woke up, but still managed to put on a little makeup: Wearable smoky eyes with nude pink lips. I'll do a separate post on the makeup and outfits I wore.

Studio B Show Kitchen Buffet in the M Resort Spa and Casino was near the freeway on the way home, so we decided to eat here. It has great reviews on Yelp and was recommended by the locals. Compare to Wicked Spoon and The Buffet at Wynn, this one is way cheaper in price about $15 per person. The food was really good, but I had tasted a few that were very bland.

Just like any other buffets in Vegas, it was very big and had a great selection of food.

Dessert section. I like the tall faux wedding cakes for decoration.

Plate 1: Glass noodle salad, imitation crab salad, corn and bean salad, sushi and pancit. I was surprised to see pancit, a Filipino noodle dish. I tried it, just to see how it compares to my mom. Eh? it was okay. It could use more soy sauce. The crab and corn salad were addicting. I went back for seconds. The sushi was just okay and nothing special.

Plate 2: Calamari, fried breaded shrimp, baked mussels, steamed mussels, fried cod, stuffed salmon with basil cream sauce, Mexican shrimp and chimichurri shrimp. Everything was very good except for the fried cod. It was bland, no flavor at all.

Plate 3
All meats: Beef tri tip with bbq sauce, kaluah pork, hamburger steak, pork bbq ribs and beef stroganoff. All very good and tender but the hamburger steak was so bland ugh! It doesn't taste anything at all.

Plate 4: Desserts! Coconut and strawberry meringue, mini key lime pie, creme brule, tiramisu, chocolate souffle and flan. It was perfect!

That's it for our Vegas trip. It was really fun and enjoyed every bit of my buffet experience lol. Gosh, I'm such a fatty! Now, back to reality, back to work and eating normal haha..

Thanks for stopping by! I will do a separate post on the makeup and outfits I wore in Vegas, so stay tuned!

Have a great weekend!!!
