Kim Kardashian Chirstmas Card 2011 Look...Entry to DulceCandy87 Contest

Here is my entry to DulceCandy87 Contest on youtube. She just hit over 600,000+ subscribers and to give back, she's holding a contest for her subscribers. To enter, you must recreate one of her looks and do a video on it. The look I chose to recreate is her Kim Kardashian Christmas Card 2011. It's my favorite look that she's ever done. She resemble Kim and gosh, she looks gorgeous with red lips!

I just love Kim Kardashian's makeup here. The doubled wing liner is so intense and fierce while the deep red lips is so sophisticated. It was the perfect holiday look. It's also my first time to do the double winged liner and it's not the easiest thing but I tried. I used a gel liner and a fine angled liner brush to create the lines. With steady hands and patience, I thought it came out pretty good lol.

Product List

-MAC Studio Fix Fluid in NC42
-Sheer Cover concealer in light/medium
-MARK Powder Buff foundation in Golden

Here is Dulce's Makeup tutorial of Kim Kardashian's Christmas Card Makeup Look.

...And here is mine. I hate how I'm a Youtube partner, but I can't even make a banner or choose my own thumbnail. It sucks!!!

Good luck to all the entries!!!

99Cents Store False Lashes

I love false lashes!!! I'm not blessed with full and long lashes, so I always rely on a false lashes for a boost of glamour. Just want to share a pair of false lashes I've been recently enjoying. These are a pair of Select Lashes in S1. Can you believe I got it from the 99Cents Store? They are a hidden gem in their little beauty section.

These lashes are a full strip. It's not too full and too long. It's full starting from the strip, then it thins and flares out as it reach the tip. They just have the right amount of drama without being too fake if that makes any sense. Just make sure you trim a few lashes off on the inner corner to fit your eyes because they are very long.

What I like:
  • They look really beautiful. They are quite dramatic, but not dragqueen-ish so I can still wear them during the day time.
  • They are easy to clean.
  • I was able to get 5 uses out of them or more if I wanted to. I just clean them very well with makeup remover, sanitize with alcohol and let it dry and they are good to use again.
  • They are easy to apply.

What I don't like:
  • They are made of plastic which causes a shiny reflection in photographs. You can see it on the second photo below. This is a bit of a bummer but for 99cents, I can live with it lol.
  • Since they are plastic, they feel quite heavy, especially on initial application. But my eyes were able to get used to them after awhile, so I was okay with it.

And here's what they look like on me. Its a photo I posted on my Instagram. Add me! under Missbecky0207!

Overall, these are pretty good false lashes. Sure they have few cons, but for the price, I really can't complain. I just don't recommend them for beginners. They have a bit of weight to them that will makes your eyes feel weird. Opt for natural hair false lashes instead ^_^.

Good Luck!

My Makeup Collection/Vanity/Storage 2012

I've been into makeup for the past 3 years and within that span of time, I accumulated a LOT of makeup. It's more than what an average girl needs, I know! But please keep in mind that I'm a makeup blogger and makeup is part of my life. Some were bought with my own money, gifts from friends, family and fiance and others were sent to me by different beauty companies. It's so funny how I started out with just a small plastic drawer and now it grew to a full dresser/drawer. Call me a hoarder, I don't care! Makeup makes me happy and my makeup is not going anywhere haha...

I store all my makeup in this wooden dresser drawer. It's part of our bedroom set.

I have all kinds of makeup from drugstore to high-end. I don't discriminate ^_^

I keep all my headbands on top for display with my Sephora Hello Kitty eye shadow palette, sunglasses, pink ceramic frog jewelry holder and a small plastic drawer where I keep all my tools, eye bases and primers.

2 makeup mirrors that I use whenever I do my makeup.  One is a lighted double sided mirror and the other is a regular double sided mirror.

I have these 2 dolls that my fiance gave me back in high school when we first started dating, a Peter Rabbit Barbie doll and 3rd Infantry Division doll named Jon. I wonder if they become alive in the middle of the night and hook up haha...I also have my electronic picture frame and my Making Faces makeup book and Don't Go To The Cosmetics Counter Without Me book.

The first drawer to the left is were I keep the makeup I use on a regular basis. Starting from the right: face and setting powders, concealers, face primers, liquid foundation, single eye shadows, eye shadow palettes, blushes, bronzers, lipsticks and lip glosses.

The first drawer to the right is where I keep all my makeup brushes, mascaras, eye liner pencils, lip liners, q-tips and cotton rounds. I like to store them in this utensil tray that I got from Ikea for less than $10. It keeps my brushes dust free.

The second drawer to the left is where I keep my false lashes, accessories, eye shadow palettes and MyGlam bags. I use empty Birchboxes to divide them.

The second drawer to the right is where I store all my Wet n Wild cosmetics and NYC New York Color cosmetics. This is my favorite part of my collection!

The third drawer to the left is miscellaneous drawer. It has a mix of beauty samples, my NYX glitters, high-end nail polishes and items that were sent to that I still need to review.

Here's a video of my collection where I talk about my makeup in details. It's a bit shaky but I hope you like it.

Thanks for stopping by!

How To Re-Use your Birchbox

(It fits 23 eye shadow trios, 7 single eye shadows, 13 lips stains and 7 blushable cream sticks)

How do you store and organize your makeup? Ever since I subscribed to Birchbox, I have been using their boxes as a storage/divider for my makeup and jewelry. I also use them to store my coupons and recipe clippings. If you don't know, Birchbox is a monthly subscription service where you pay $10 a month and they send you a box with 4-5 high end deluxe beauty samples. I've been a subscriber ever since they started about a year and some months ago and within that span of time, I have accumulated a lot of Birchboxes!

This is what Birchbox looks like. The box is firm and sturdy and I use cover and bottom as storage/divider for my makeup and jewelry. You can also re-use them as a gift box and just wrap and decorate it with colorful wrapping paper if you like.

Here's what it looks like inside my makeup dresser/drawer.

I use it to store and organize all my NYC New York Color makeup and Wet n Wild makeup.

What do you do with your Birchbox?

Daily Beauty: Biore Deep Cleansing Pore Strip

WHO: Used Biore Deep Cleansing Pore Strip with all the nasty blackheads and white heads from my nose...Yuck!

WHAT: A nose strip that promises to remove dirt and blackheads on the skin.
Biore says, "Pull the plug on clogged pores.  Deep cleansing nose strips instantly remove dirt, oil and blackheads for cleaner, smaller - looking pores.
Clogged pores... they may be a fact of life, but don't let them rule your life.  Biore® deep cleansing pore strips are a weekly pore refining treatment for the nose area that instantly removes pore - clogging dirt, oil and blackheads.  Tests show that in just one use, Biore deep cleansing pore strips are twice as effective as the leading pore cleanser at getting rid of build - up and blackheads for cleaner pores.  In fact, when used regularly, Biore deep cleansing pore strips actually diminish the appearance of your pores.  Biore nose strips have an innovative slit design for improved fit." (taken from Drugstore.com)

WHEN: Permanent

WHERE: Drugstore.com and at your local drugstores
                retail price: $7 and up.

Sorry for the disgusting photo, but the this Biore nose strip is amazing. Can you see all that gunk? I can't believe this sticky strip can remove so much blackheads and whiteheads. It's a bit pricy for the few strips you get in a box, but you're only supposed to use it once a week, so $7 a month is not bad at all. See my complete review HERE.

FOTD: Lots of Lashes and 24 Carrot Gold Lips

This is the makeup I wore yesterday at my friend's dinner. After I did my makeup, I realize I had done a very similar look in the past haha.... It's not too different from my NAKED 2 palette look which you can see HERE. Same orangey coral lips and similar tone of neutrals on the eyes. Whatever happen to my creativity, huh? I hope you still like it though. This a great look to wear everyday and you can change up the lip color to your preference.

I love the burst of coral lips. It gives my face a fresh look.

For the eye makeup, I used my Wet n Wild Color Icon I Heart Matte palette (flesh, brown and white) on the crease and outer corner and MAC eye shadow in All That Glitters all over the lids.

For the false lashes, I wore Select Lash in S1. Can you believe I got this at the 99cents store? It's pretty good. It's just a little heavy, but eyes were able to get used to them.

Product List:

-MakeupForever HD face primer
-MAC Studio Fix Fluid in NC42
-Almay Eyebase/concealer in Medium
-Makeup Forever HD powder
-Wet n Wild Brow Kit

-Urban Decay eye shadow primer

Daily Beauty: The Body Shop Vitamin E Eye Cream

WHO: The Body Shop Vitamin E Eye Cream

WHAT: An eye cream that supposed to "help reduce appearance of fine lines, puffiness and dark circles. It's part of their Vitamin E skin care line.

The Body Shop says, "A moisturizing eye cream that helps protect the delicate skin around the eye area, reducing the appearance of fine lines, puffiness, and dark circles, leaving skin feeling soft and smooth. Contains moisturizing shea butter and rose hip oil." (Taken from TheBodyShop.com)

WHEN: Permanent
retail price: $18. It was $17 back in 2010.

WHERE: The Body Shop store, TheBodyShop-USA.com

I don't think I'll ever forget this product because it's the first eye cream I ever bought. It promises so much, but it only did one thing for me. It kept the skin under my eyes moisturized. I found it best used as a night eye cream before going to bed. See more photos and my full review HERE.

May 2012 MyGlam: Philosophy, Studio Gear, Miss Beauty and MyGlam makeup brushes

Sorry if all my post this week has been monthly subscriptions services. I promise this is the last one lol. I received my MyGlam bag yesterday the same time as Birchbox and it was double goodies for me. For some reason, Myglam bag came a little late. I've been seeing everybody else's bag since last week and I just got mine yesterday. No biggie though.

The theme for this month's MyGlam is "Love Is In The air". That's Bethany of MacBarbie07 of youtube on the card. She's only 16 or 17 if I'm not mistaken and she's already a youtube sensation. She's so adorable and pretty.

MyGlam product list

Here's what I got...

A sample of Philosphy Love Sweet Love Spray Fragrance. Another sample perfume to add to my collection. I've said it before that I'm not a perfume person, but this one is really nice. It has a sweet fruity scent that I actually really like. It's something I would wear to a date with my fiance.

A full size Studio Gear Complete Color lipstick in Misty Mauve. I was very happy to see a full size lipstick and even more happy because it's a color I can wear. It's a pretty mauve nude shade that looks very natural against my skin tone. It glides on so smoothly and feels so comfortable on my lips. I love it already!

Full size Miss Beauty Nail Bling stickers. These nail stickers is probably what I need for my ugly nails. I suck at painting my nails, but I can sure apply stickers!

MyGlam Concealer Brush and Defining Eyeliner Brush. I was excited when I found out makeup brushes were going to be included in my bag, but I was kind'a disappointed when I saw them in person. The concealer brush is way too thin and small for my liking, and I don't like the eye liner brush at all. I prefer an angled brush. I could probably use it as a lip brush?

Overall, I'm pretty pleased with this month's MyGlam. I like all of the samples except for the 2 brushes. They are cute, but I don't see myself using them.

Click HERE if you want to learn more about MyGlam.

May 2012 Birchbox + GossipGirl

I just got my Birchbox in the mail today and I want to show you what I got. This month, Birchbox collaborated with "Gossip Girl" to create a box inspired by the hit series. That explains the Gossip Girl sleeves on the box. Products included are what "a social butterfly needs to look her best on the weekends" . If you're a fan of this show, then it should probably exciting for you. I've never seen the show before, but just by the name and from seeing their commercials, I can tell there's a lot of girl drama, am I right?

Product List

A sample of Algenist Complete Eye Renewal Balm. Another eye cream in my collection. It keeps growing and growing lol. This product promises to soften fine lines and deflates puffiness on the eyes.
Full size: $65

Sample of Color Club nail polish in Disco Nap. It's a pretty small bottle, but has a lot of product. It's a gorgeous metallic gold color. It's very opaque and dries quick. If you're a fan of metallic nail polishes, then you will really like it.
Full size: $8

Sample of Dr. Jart + Waterfuse BB Cream with SPF25. My first BB cream! It's so interesting. It's a moisturizer, serum, sunblock and a face tint all in one. I just wished the sample was a little bigger.
Full size : $32

Sample of Ojon Volume Advance Volumizing Shampoo. I've never heard of this brand before and I'm interested in it. I can use always use a good volumizing shampoo to perk up my dull and flat hair.
Full size: $22

Birchbox Extra: Note Cards...It's cute, but I don't really care for it.
A set of 12 is $10

Overall, this month's Birthbox was okay. It's not the best, but it's okay. As long as there's no random laundry detergent sample, I'm happy!

Did you get yours?
