Daytime Blue Look using Drama Queen Cosmetics

Blue eyeshadow is not the first color that comes to mind whenever I do a daytime look. Most blue eye shadows I own are either too bright or shimmery and very difficult to pull off for daytime wear. So, I pretty much stick to neutrals such as golds, coppers and browns. However, I was recently introduced to one of the most gorgeous blue eyeshadows I've ever seen. Drama Queen cosmetics eye shadow in Sapphire is a gorgeous shimmery night blue with purple undertone. It's almost like periwinkle blue on the eyes. It's not too shimmery or bright which makes it very wearable for daytime.

All of the eyeshadows I used are from Drama Queen Cosmetics. You can see my review and swatches HERE.

My headband is from Lilla Rose. It has little rosettes and an adjustable band. It's so beautiful and comfortable. I will have a formal review on it very soon.

A great tip is to keep the blue color below the crease and blend the edge very well. I like to use a soft brown eyeshadow to blur out the edge of the blue. It will create a smooth transition from lid to brow bone and it won't look harsh.

The tutorial for this look will be up on my Youtube channel very soon!

What do you think of wearing blue eye shadow for daytime?

  1. Love the blue on you. I myself have a hard time pulling blue off like that.

  2. This looks really nice and suitable for the day! I love blue eyeshadows a lot.. they're so flattering on olive skin tones. I like how you used a brown/taupe color to soften the edges of the blue. That's perfect!
