Review/Swatches/Photos: Wet n Wild Tough Girl Eyeshadow Collection

Hey loves, this post is going to be a review and swatches of the new limited edition Wet n Wild Tough Girl Eyeshadow Collection. You might have seen the display at drugstores that says Beauty Army, but official word from Wet Wild says that they are using "Tough Girl" for this collection. These has been out since September 1st, so you can already buy them at your local CVS, Rite Aid, Walgreens and possibly other drugstores as well.

This collection is very different from the Pop Art Craze collection that was released over the Summer. The colors are toned down and more on the rich and dark side, very appropriate for Fall and Winter. They also come in different textures and finishes which allows you to create a well balanced look. Each trio comes with a Mega Protein mascara, which I thought was pretty neat.

Swatches are on my bare skin, meaning there's no primer underneath.

Enlisting for Beauty

Consist of neutral eye shadows that can be worn everyday. I love how it's a mix of matte and shimmers. All the eye shadows are soft in texture and easy to blend. My favorite is the coffee brown color in the middle. It's just so deep and rich. It would be the perfect eye shadow to do a brown smoky eyes.

brow bone: pale peach color in matte finish
crease: coffee brown color with satin finish and silver shimmers
eyelid: taupe color in  satin finish

Zero Dark Flirty

This trio consist different shades of purple eye shadows. Aren't they pretty? It definitely reminds me of Wet n Wild Coloricon eye shadow in Petal Plusher. It also has a mix of matte and shimmers

brow bone: a gorgeous lavender color with satin finish and silver shimmers. Very pigmented but a bit powdery.
crease: A satin deep violet with blue under tone. It has silver shimmers that's quite visible.
eyelid: is a matte purple color. It's a bit powdery and is less pigmented than the rest. I had to swipe 2-3X to get a good color pay off.

I Don't Do Camouflage

This trio consist of different shades of blue with no matte color. It reminds me of the Wet n Wild Coloricon Eyeshadow in Blue Had Me At Hello

browbone: a light blue color with a satin finish. It's a bit powdery and not as smooth when swatched.
crease: a super pigmented midnight blue, almost black with blue glitters. It's such a beautiful color and my fav in the trio. The blue glitters is visible and changes color when it hits the light.
eyelid: looks more like a periwinkle blue when swatched. It also has a satin finish.

Soldiers in Charms

This is my second favorite in the collection. This trio consist of unique shades of warm greens. It actually reminds me of the old Army fatigue uniform and the Wet n Wild Coloricon Eyeshadow in Comfort Zone.

browbone: a shimmery apple green color with silver shimmers. It's such a pretty color, but it's a bit powdery and easily crumbles so be careful when you dip your brush.
crease: to me, it looks like an army green color with a satin finish.
eyelid: a dark olive green color, almost black with gold shimmers. The gold shimmers are visible too. So pretty!

I highly recommend them if you love bold and dark eye shadows. Yes, some colors are a bit powdery and less pigmented than others, but for the price of $2.99, they are pretty good. Just make sure you a good eye shadow primer and don't dip your brush too hard. Also, I find some of the colors to be so unique and beautiful. They are so worth the try.

I will do a separate review on the Mega Protein mascara so stay tune!
