Benetint by Benefit Review/Photo

 photo bdayfun12_zps5bd9d983.jpg

If you're in the hunt for a long lasting blush and lip color that looks very natural then Benetint by Benefit might be for you. I was fortunate to received a full size sample at the Generation beauty event a few months ago. It's a 2 in 1 lip and cheek color that comes in a form of a liquid that stains your skin. It gives my face a natural rosy flush and it stays on forever! (forever means all day lol). It's absolutely beautiful. Now I know why it's a favorite of so many people.

Benefit claims, "Our original rose-tinted stain is kiss-proof, see-through color for lips & cheeks that lasts for hours. Naturally sheer & sexy on all complexions...it’s innocent yet provocative.Originally created for an exotic dancer in the 1970s, benetint has soared to cult fave status. It's loved by celebs, makeup artists and gals around the world. It's the sexiest flush you can get from a bottle!" (taken from Benefitcosmetics.com)

COLOR
It bright rosy red color in the bottle, but it's sheer and subtle on the skin. It gives my skin that "just pinched" look ^_^.

APPLICATION
I like to either brush a few strokes or dots on the cheeks and blend with fingers. I do the same on the lips. Since I have a medium/tan skin tone, I have to reapply more than once, about 4X so the color can show through. If you have pale to light skin tone,

LONGEVITY
I wore it once to a mini date with El Hubby and it was able to hold it's color on the cheeks at the end of the day (about 6 hours). There was a little fading on the lips, but the color was still visible.

PRICE
It retails for $30 and is available at department stores and Sephora.

Overall, it's a great product and it does what it says. I highly recommend it.

The Body Shop Vineyard Peach Body Lotion and Body Scrub Review/Photos

 photo Capturef_zpsa6714abd.png

Peach lovers, rejoice!!! The Body Shop's Vineyard Peach is back!!! It was first launched last Summer as a limited edition. I was still working at The Body Shop then, and I remember the line being a big hit among customers. You will never find any other product that smells like fresh sliced peaches. It's absolutely divine. Now it's back as part of their seasonal line long with Papaya, Blueberries, Passion Fruit and Coconut Shimmer

Read on for my review...

 photo NEW1_zps419b1fe3.jpg

Vineyard Peach Body Lotion $12

In comparison to the Body Butter, the body lotion provides lightweight moisture. It's best used for hot and humid weather. It's non sticky and easily gets absorbed into the skin. And again, it smells like fresh peaches that's not too over powering. It's has real peach extract, Shea butter and Brazil nut oil. It's absolutely wonderful.

Main Ingredients:
Star Ingredients Wild peach extract Mediterranean peach kernel oil Community Fair Trade shea butter from Ghana Community Fair Trade brazil nut oil from Peru (taken from TheBodyShop-USA.com)

 photo IMG_1555_zps13af3e64.jpg

Vineyard Peach Cream Body Scrub $20

It has crushed coconut shells, peach seed powder to exfoliate the skin. I found to be mild compare to their other cream body scrub (eg. Coconut). I also has real Peach extract that gives a light peach scent. It's best to use once a week to get rid of the dead skin cells on the body. It leaves my skin feeling smooth, but a tad dry, so make sure you follow up with Peach body lotion or body butter.

Main Ingredients
Wild peach extract Mediterranean peach kernel oil Community Fair Trade organic soya oil from Brazil Community Fair Trade organic babassu oil from Brazil Community Fair Trade marula oil from Namibia.

NYX Nude on Nude makeup palette Review/Swatches

I love a great Nude palette. It's been all the rage and honestly, Nude will never go out of style. You can play it anyway you want from basic day time look to smoky eyes for night time. It's here to stay! NYX Nude on Nude makeup palette is my current favorite makeup. I received it as a sample from the Generation Beauty event. For the price, I can honestly say that it's comparable to the high end Urban Decay Naked palette plus more. Read one for my review...

 photo IMG_5965_zpse4b7705f.jpg

PRODUCT CLAIM:
NYX claims, "NYX Nude on Nude set is a classy medley of 20 neutral eye shadows and 10 vibrant lip colors that work for every skin tone and every occasion. This makeup palette comes with a mirror and 2 applicators for your lips and eyes, making it perfectly portable" (taken from NYXcosmetics.com)

EYE SHADOWS:
The palette consist of 20 neutral eye shadows in different finishes (matte, satin and metallic). I'm impressed with the color selection. It has the basic colors you need such as matte brown and beige to create an everyday, simple eye look, plus gorgeous grays, bronze and an intense black for night time looks. For the most part they are all pigmented and easy to blend, but they need help from an eye shadow primer to make them more vibrant. Also, the colors are a bit powdery, so make sure you don't dip your brush too hard and tap off the excess before applying to prevent too much fall outs.

LIP COLORS:
The palette consist of 10 lip colors that are mostly pinks and a few reds. I'm not a fan of lip colors in makeup palettes I never use them at all. But these are actually great! They are very creamy and easy to apply. The colors are half metallic (5 left) and half glossy (5 right) finish with a sheer to medium coverage. You need to layer until you get the desired coverage. I don't care for the metallics because they don't compliment my tan skin tone, but the the glossy ones are just absolutely beautiful. See swatches below.

PACKAGING:
I don't like the packaging. The plastic is not sturdy. It's going to break if I drop it. But I like how it has a mirror and a secret pull out lip colors on the bottom.

PRICE and AVAILABILITY:
Retails for $25 at NYXcosmtics.com It's such a great value compare to other high end nude makeup palettes. Again, you're getting 20 eye shadows and 10 lip colors.

Overall, it's a great value and alternative to other high end nude makeup palettes. You get so much product for a low price. Just make sure you apply under a good eye shadow base and tap off the excess before applying.

Guest Post: Anamika's Favorite Blushes

Hi Everyone!

I am going to review  three of my favorite drugstore blushes today. I love colors and keep experimenting with different shades. Be it coral, pink, red  I love to try them all. Besides makeup, I am fond of smoky  eyes and when I was completely unaware of the art, I once Googled How to make smokey eyes and landed up on Becky’s blog. I am glad that the girl who taught me smoky eyes is letting me write on her blog J

Coming to the makeup blushes

1)      NYX Cream blush
When I got NYX Cream blush in my hand I was completely shocked by its colour. In the pan it looks like a dark red blush but when blended, it looks more like a warm red blush with red undertones.  It’s a shade which gives natural looking pink cheeks to me with bit of red hue. It stays all day long and best thing it costs just $6.50.

 photo AdobeCS5_zps4e939430.jpg

2) Revlon Cream Blush Coral Reef –
I was so eager and desperate to try these blushes out that I got all the three shades in it. Unfortunately only one shade - coral reef suits me and rest all wash my NC42 warm skin tone. This blush is a must have for those who are scared of experimenting cream shades.  Like butter on a hot toast (Yes! I am writing up this review before breakfast and thinking of it ), it glides into the skin because of its silicon based formula.

3) Wet N Wild Color Icon Blush Mellow Wine –
Blush blends easily and gives that natural look. It doesn’t  fade and lasts long. It’s a $3 blush and is highly pigmented and my skin doesn’t feel oily or gets overly dry after using it. It’s a matte blush and doesn’t enhance open pores. It’s just not a wine shade at all. It’s a warm pink blush with peachy undertones. It’s a blush which you will pick up almost every day.

Step by Step Eye Tutorial using Wet n Wild Trio in Three's A Party

Wet n Wild Three's A Party is one of my favorite trios in the Pop Art Craze collection. It has the most vibrant and beautiful red eye shadow. It's not very often I get to see a red eye shadow unless if it's in a huge eye shadow palette like one of those 120 eye shadow palettes and they are not even as pigmented. The trio consist of white, red and black colors. It's a bit odd for a eye shadow combo but these colors can work with each other. Let me show you how...

 photo bdayfun6_zps47f7ef28.jpg

All you need to do is follow the color placement colors.

white = brow bone
red = crease
black =eyelid

Pretty easy, right?

 photo IMG_8003_zpsd3f1fb15.jpg

Apply an eye shadow prime all over the eye lid using your finger. I used Wet n Wild Fergie For My Primas eye primer. This is crucial if you want your eye shadows to last.

 photo IMG_8012_zps5cb54c96.jpg

Smudge a thin layer of black cream eye shadow all over the eye lids with a concealer brush This will serve as a base to intensify any eye shadow you put on top. This is optional because the eye shadows in the trio are pigmented. I just want to make sure there will be no gaps.

 photo IMG_8016_zps808fdd3b.jpg

Apply by patting the black eye shadow on top of the black base using a flat shader brush. It's up to you if you stay below or a little bit above the crease.

 photo IMG_8028_zpse17b575c.jpg

Apply the red eye shadow in the crease using a crease brush. Apply in circular motion and stop until you get a nice transition between the black and red.

 photo IMG_8033_zpsa3642cd5.jpg

Apply the white shadow on the brow bone and inner corner as high light.

 photo IMG_8065_zpse90cf42c.jpg

Line water line, upper and lower lash line with black eye liner. I used Urban Decay 24/7 eye liner pencil in Zero. Then repeat the same steps on the lower lash liner. Apply black, then red on the edge using a small smudge brush.

 photo IMG_8053_zps6f3b3d16.jpg

Apply dramatic false lashes if you please or skip and just curl lashes and apply waterproof mascara. I'm wearing Lonjure false lashes.

 photo IMG_8061_zps51c0e824.jpg

Here's the finished look!

Hope it was helpful and let me know what you think on the comment down below ^_^.
