ELF Beauty Bundle Review "Birthday Beauty Bundle"

Here's a new monthly subscription service that you might be interested in. E.L.F or Eye Lips Face cosmetics recently released their very first subscription service. I've tried several monthly subscription services in the past and I never expect ELF to start one. Most of the monthly subscription services I've tried include high-end beauty products and ELF is more on the affordable, almost dirt cheap. But I guess it's great introduction to the brand if you've never tried ELF before and it would be a wonderful gift to anyone who enjoys makeup and beauty.

Read on for my review...

My thoughts: I really like the idea of a Beauty Bundle. I like getting a bunch of products for even cheaper than what it is. However, I feel like I can get the same deal if I wait for a sale or coupon code which they often offer, plus I get to choose the products. Also, I don't think I'll sign up for another bundle. I already own a lot of ELF products. I don't want to end up getting the same ones.

In regards to all the products in the bundle, I'm happy to say that I like most of them. Even though I didn't get to pick them, most of them turned out great. My favorites are the Mineral lipstick, mascara, blush and bronzer duo and the Studio Line brushes.

I would recommend this bundle only if you don't own a lot of ELF products or have never tried them before. Skip it of you already own a lot of ELF.

August IPSY Glam Bag

Ipsy has done it again. Fabulous 4 full size and 1 sample product for only $10. I'm excited to see NYX and Jesse's Girl as well as Jcat and Cailyn which are brands included in previous bags. It's definitely worth more than $10.

This month's theme is Classic Beauty. It comes with a beautiful blue bag with black floral and lace print. I really like it.

Mini L.A. Fashion District Haul

Hey loves, I just wanna share a mini Fashion Haul I did on Saturday. I need dresses to wear for the 2 weddings I'm going to next month. Instead of going to the mall, I went to my favorite place to shop, the San Pedro Wholesale Mart in L.A. Fashion District. If you've been following my blog, then you probably already know that. They sell new and brand name clothes for dirt cheap! It's only open to the public on Saturdays at 6:30am and it's cash only. Click HERE and HERE if you like to learn more about this place.

Here's what I got...

 photo IMG_9611_zpsa7679bf3.jpg
A lime and blue floral dress by Charlotte Russe. I know Summer is over but this is soooo pretty!

 photo IMG_9618_zpsdc775e26.jpg
I love this little black dress. It hugs the body really nice and it's thick too. It doesn't have any brand though.

 photo IMG_9615_zps03fe168a.jpg
Forever 21 mini skirts. They're so thick. I can wear them for the winter with some leggings.

Just to show you that these clothes are brand new and are from familiar brand names.

ELF Studio Contouring Blush and Bronzing Powder in St. Lucia REVIEW/SWATCHES

One of my favorite blushes of all time is NARS powder blush in Orgasm. Super pigmented peachy pink blush that applies smooth on the skin, and its absolutely amazing. The only problem to me is the hefty price. It's almost $30 after California taxes. Yikes! that's a lot of money for a blush, right? Well, what if I told you that there is dupe for Orgasm that will make your pocket extremely happy.  It's the Eyes Lips Face Studio Contouring Blush and Bronzing powder in St. Lucia, and it's only $3!!! The blush shade is very similar and just as beautiful as NARS, plus it comes with a bronzer so you're getting 2 products in 1.

Read on for my review.

 photo IMG_8994_zps58e89bf9.jpg

Eyes Lips Face says,
Create a healthy and natural glow all year long with the Contouring Blush & Bronzing Powder. The Blush highlights the cheeks to add a flush of color, while the Bronzer accents and contours cheekbones for beautiful definition. This convenient compact has just what you need to achieve a gorgeous glow anytime, anywhere.

What I like:
  • The sleek packaging. Very similar to NARS black packaging.
  • Comes with 2 products: powder blush and bronzer. You're definitely getting more for your money.
  • Blush shade is beautiful. It's a peachy peach color with gold specs. Very comparable to  NARS blush in Orgasm. It compliments my medium/tan skin tone.
  • Bronzer shade is beautiful as well. It has gold specs which gives a slight shimmery finish. I thought it was going to look too shiny on the face, but the shimmer appears subtle.
  • Pigmentation is superb. A little goes a long way. I suggest using a stippling brush or a brush with sparse bristles.
  • Texture is smooth but a bit powdery so make sure you tap off the excess before applying on the face.

What I don't like:
  • I can't think of anything negative to say about it. For a $3 product, I really can't complain.

REVIEW/SWATCH: VIP Cosmetics Lipstick Gloss in Violet

Hot purple lipstick! Who's down?! I received so many compliments on my Facebook and Instagram when I posted a makeup look featuring this super gorgeous lipstick gloss in Violet from VIP cosmetics. The color is so unique and nothing I've ever tried before. It glides on smooth, non drying and has a longevity of a lip stain. I'm obsessed!

VIP cosmetics is a makeup brand based in Germany and they specialized in quality makeup comparable to high end department store makeup for a reasonable price. It's my first time trying their brand and I really like it. It seems like they put a lot of thought and effort with their products. Learn more about them HERE. I

SHADE/FINISH
Violet is a deep violet shade with slight hues of magenta. It has a duo chrome quality to it because the shade changes when you move or when the light hits it. It has a slight glossy/metallic finish so no need for lip gloss.

TEXTURE/COVERAGE:
I love the smooth texture. It applies very easily without tugging the lips. It had medium coverage yet build-able. I suggest to let set to dry every application to get maximum coverage.

LONGEVITY:
I'm amazed with the longevity. It reminds me of a lip stain. Went on a birthday party. I ate and drank and I noticed there wasn't any lipstick stain on my glass of water. It stayed on pretty well for a good 5 hours before I noticed a little fading. I re-applied with one coat after eating and it was able to last for the rest of the night. See the before and after photo below.

PRICE/AVAILABILITY:
It retails for $11 and is available on their website VIPCosmetics.com That is a great price for the quality. I wouldn't mind paying more for it.

How it looks on me. I just love the color. It compliments my medium/tan skin tone very well.

 photo IMG_9294_zps4effa9cf.jpg

Left is freshly applied lipstick. Right is how it looks after 8 hours (I had to re apply with one coast after eating). Pretty amazing isn't it?

Overall, I really love it and I don't have anything negative to say. I highly recommend it to anyone who's looking for a bold lip color with amazing quality and longevity.
