N.Y.C. New York Color Ultra Last Lipstick *REVIEW and SWATCHES*

 photo christmas6_zpsit6lvvu3.jpg

BRAND: N.Y.C. New York City Colors
NAME: Ultra Last Lipsticks
PRICE: $0.99-1.99
AVAILABILITY: Drugstores and online.

An oldie, but a goodie! These N.Y.C. New York City Ultra Last lipsticks has been in my collection for awhile. I am not sure if they are discontinued, but I still see them at some of my local drugstores and and The Dollar store, so I still decided to make this review and swatches for you guys.

They are one of the best drugstore lipstick in my opinion! I love the formula and pigmentation. It is rich, creamy, smooth and comfortable on the lips. They are true to color and opaque with medium to full coverage. One application is all I need. Most shades have a shimmer and shiny finish, which I  don't mind because I don't need to apply a lip gloss over them.

However, I am not a fan of the packaging. The lipstick does not twist all the way down. I have to be careful not to nick the lipstick every time I open and close it ugh. Also, touch ups is needed. For me, they last about 3-4 hours especially with eating and drinking, but that's not really a big deal to me. For the price, they are still amazing!

Overall, they are a great product. The bad packaging is overlooked by the formula, texture, gorgeous shades and affordable price. They will be forever one of my favorite lipsticks!

*Just a note, 4 of the lipsticks has a different placement of the N.Y.C. logo. I am not sure if they are part of the Ultra Last Line. But let's just assume they are since the packaging is the same ^_^. Thank you!*

*Swatches of New York City Cheek Glow Powder Blush*
 photo IMG_1635_zpsyywbd9ty.jpg

NYC New York color cosmetics Cheek Glow Powder Blush is part of their permanent line.

  • Pigmentation needs improvement. It's way too sheer for my liking. I had to swipe my finger over and over again to get a decent color pay off when I was swatching them on my arm. I had to dip my brush heavily so many times to make the shade appear on my cheeks.
  • All the shades look very similar to one another. Imagine picking out a shade while at the drugstore when all of the blush shades look the same. It would be very difficult. *look at photos*
  • The name of the blushes does not match the shade. For example, Park Avenue Plum is no where near a plum color but more of a rosy shade.
  • Some shades are not true to color. For example, "Outside Cafe" appears to be a shimmery bronze color in the pan, but in reality it's just all silver shimmers. *see swatches*

  • Sheer can be good thing. You don't have to worry about applying too much blush.
  •  I also really like the matte finish of most of the blushes. It looks very natural on the face
  • The price is also very cheap. Only $2.49!

Overall, they are just okay and not for me. I won't be reaching for them when I do my makeup. They are affordable, but there are a lot of drugstore blushes that has better pigment or color pay off.

Here's what it looks like on my face

 photo christmas3_zpssvzv5wzp.jpg

I love Wet n' Wild, but I have never been a fan of their concealers until now! Fergie Come Correct Celebrity concealer is a new addition to the Fergie Centerstage line for Spring 2015. It claims to be "complete coverage, conceal for any imperfections, mask under-eye circles, discoloration and blemishes." And it really does. I am very impressed with how well it was able to do all of the above for me. I have a lot of blemishes, redness and slight under eye circles and it was able to conceal all of them in 1-2 layers. It dries to a matte finish and looks natural. It also doesn't budge. It will stay on all day!

However, there are some things you need to keep in mind when using this product. The texture is  thick and dries quickly. You may have a difficult time blending and smoothing it out. To prevent this, what I did was use a small concealer brush to get a little bit of the product and applied it in one area at a time. I did about 1-2 thin layers until I was happy with the coverage. It may take a little bit of patience.

It sucks that it only comes in 3 shades. They are all obviously light. Wish they will come out darker shades in the future so some of us won't feel left out. But I managed to make it work. I applied A112 Medium Golden first to conceal before applying foundation and setting powder, and it looked very good.

I still think it's a good buy. It may not work for all skin types, but for the low price and ability to conceal imperfections make it the best full coverage drugstore concealer. You should still check it out.

Brush with Brilliance A160- Peachy Pink shade with gold shimmers. A tad bit similar to Coloricon blusher in Pearlescent Pink and NARS ORgasm blush. I'm a sucker for peachy pink blushes. I can rock this color day or night time.

Brush with Danger A159-  Cotton candy pink with matte finish. It's very vivid! More of a nigh time blush in my opinion.

Brush with Destiny A158- Peachy Tan with gold shimmers. A tad big lighter than Brush with Brilliance. More appropriate for day time because the color is quite sheer yet buildable.
